Great place to get a classic cheeseburger. No bells and whistles, just a good pressed out and seared burger. The milkshakes are... very light, but pair very well with a burger and fries. They have the absolute best Fried Trout Plate that I've ever eaten. I don't know what she does to her tartar sauce but I could... eat it by itself. And their homemade cherry cokes like the old school soda shops. Yummmm! Read more
Saw the episode on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Finally was able to visit on a recent trip to Charlotte...was really excited... about trying the chicken.. it had crunchy crispy skin and chicken was juicy but no seasoning whatsoever..I'm glad they gave mesome salt packs so I could atleast finish eating it so I didn't waste money..also tried a cheeseburger with chili, it was prettygood but needed more chili... Old fashioned and delicious! Authentic 1950s drive in with friendly service and fresh, flavorful food. I had the 1/2 chicken... plate that came with 4 pieces of chicken, cole slaw, french fries and 2 dinner rolls. The chicken was crispy and fried toperfection. I love old school drive-ins! And the food is amazing along with the fast service. I had the fish-o-burger and it came with... fries, my daughter had a cheeseburger and the onion rings. It's every bit as good as they have been rated to be! There is a reason they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. This... place is the real deal drive-in diner and is definitely worth your time and money. Speaking of money, we got a lot of food forthe price. Spent 27 dollars and had enough food for 3 or 4 people. Definitely a great place to take the family. Everyone therewas super friendly and helpful. If there's one place you take the time to go try while in Charlotte, you can't go wrong going tothe South 21 Drive in! Read more
