From the outside, the restaurant looks like a terrible office building cafeteria. But it is a nice restaurant inside. The food... tasted good, but the service was a little slow. The food is expensive, but not super expensive. The fire alarm went off ruiningthe dinner experience, we had to go outside for like 15 minutes while food sat on the table getting cold. The restaurant didnothing except apologize. Our check should have been discounted at minimum. Might return. Read more

Everything was great! The Chef and staff are very attentive and quick, with the special orders were made to perfection. We... enjoyed the grilled salmon sandwich and fish tacos with a side of marsla for the rice. Read more

The food was pretty good. Atmosphere is wonderful! The service was pretty good. Be aware you will need to park in a parking... garage and do a short walk to the restaurant. But overall, I'd probably visit here again. Read more

I absolutely loved my dinner. I ordered the Teriyaki Trout dinner and the fish and sides were cooked to perfection. I also had... the butter cake for dessert and it is one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. The restaurant was short staffed but the waitstaff did very good attending to our table. I can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes on the menu. Read more

I thoroughly enjoyed everything that served. The rye whiskey Old Fashioned was very smooth, perfect pre-meal drink. The bread... service was delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops were the perfect appetizer. The butcher steak that we ordered was a perfectmedium, very soft and tender. The chicken teriyaki was awesome too, great proportions of everything. Too full for desert thistime. Would definitely recommend, and am definitely coming back! Read more

Yesterday was my first time at Village Tavern. I was there for a group brunch event. We were offered tea while we waited for... others to join. I had the chamomile tea. I enjoyed it & plan to see if I can purchase the brand myself. I drank mine as-is. Ifyou want sweeteners, you'll need to ask for it. Others in my group enjoyed the peppermint tea but had to ask for honey. Iordered the ham & cheese omelet and the crab cake. Being a MD girl, I tend to judge restaurants by their crab cakes. Theypassed. Most restaurants in the south have more bread than crab meat. This was straight crab meat; it could've used a little OldBay or mustard, but those are my personal preferences. The omelet was great & filling. It came out hot, but I was able to enjoyit right away. The omelet came with hashbrowns, but they were just fried potatoes w/a few onions, imo. They were good. Theomelet also came with a blueberry muffin. My only take away, there seemed to be stains in both the mug & the water container. Iwas too busy talking that I didn't notice it until I'd already drank the tea. If the containers are just stained, no problem.Unfortunately, the stains give the appearance of dirty containers. A few people made substitutions for their orders. Someoneordered a Benedict & didn't realize the middle of the eggs weren't cooked when our server mentioned that the eggs were fried. Heapologized. She wanted the same order but with scrambled eggs. Someone ordered sweet potato fries but didn't want all of thesugar. She ordered regular fries instead. The server was pleasant the entire time. Would definitely return on my own. Read more
