My coworkers and I ordered over $200 worth of food for lunch. The only problem was the pad Thai. I explained that it was not... right, when I went to exchanged the food. (Never had this experience) The girl DEMANDED to know what was the reason I wasexchanging. I said it was not right 3 times. That wasn?t good enough. I finally stated the PAD THAI tAsted funny. I gave herback her he food. When she returned with my exchange? she told me the chef looked at it and nothing was wrong and it was cookedto their standard.. That would be a 1 time courtesy and would not change it again. Don?t worry that DAMN Pad Thai was gross ????but she didn?t have to be so rude about it. This place used to be great but is now lacking what it once had. I ordered take out today and was surprised to lean that my koi... soy container barely contained any food- not even close to a meal ? for $15!! They also forgot to give us cutlery so I cannoteat my food until I get home. I will not go back until they open their restaurant in full. No more take out for me. The Pho at this restaurant is PHOnomenal! I can?t say enough about how amazing the flavor and broth is. Every time I?m sick I... order it and it is so comforting and good for you. I always add extra scallions, ginger, and cilantro. I order veggie pho inbeef broth and four extra broths to make it stretch (and because it?s delicious!). Uncooked noodles are the way to go for athome experience. I also love their dumplings, their fried spring rolls, their chicken satay, the pad Thai, and the drunkennoodles! I?m a regular at this place and always will be. Thai is my favorite cuisine and they do it right. Staff is always veryhelpful and my order is always correct. I discovered Chimm shortly after moving to Charlottesville two years ago and have ordered from here nearly weekly ever since.... You can tell a lot of thought goes into their recipes, and I feel good ordering knowing I'm supporting a family business thatextends that level of care and concern to their employees (as demonstrated on their social media). BONUS, as someone withmultiple food allergies, I so appreciate that their food is labeled on their menus, hand written reminders go on the foodcontainers, and you always have the option to text the restaurant to let them know. Also I'm lol'ing at the reviewer who is aph? expert after eating at "dozens of pho restaurants." I'm Vietnamese. I make vegan ph? at home all the time. My recipe wastaught to me by Buddhist nuns in Saigon. I still get Chimm ph? regularly. Why? The variety and regional/chef differences makeour food special and life interesting. Let me start off by saying that I'm vegetarian (sometimes vegan) and tried to order something that would fit within my diet. I... ordered a Vegetable Curry. What came was mostly water and basically a soup. It didn't have much taste and the curry made mechoke, while not being too hot (weird I know). The meat eaters I was with enjoyed their meals. Although their meals lookedreally wet/watery to me. I love Indian vegetable curry dishes but this food was nothing like that. Maybe I just don't likeThai? Service was good. However, their dining area was closed and we had to eat outside. If it were not for the satisfactionof my dining partners, I would give 0 stars for my particular dish. Not only is the food at Chimm DELICIOUS, but their customer service is top notch, as well. I placed an order through a... delivery/pickup app and accidentally selected the wrong option, unbeknownst to me. When I found out that Thai Cuisine had a new sister restaurant in Cville, I was stoked to check it out. It did not... disappoint! From the moment we walked in the door, service was impeccable! Our hostess was personable and friendly and ourserver was AWESOME. He was funny, attentive and great at anticipating everything we needed. The shrimp fresh rolls were superfresh and that peanut sauce was everything. I opted for pho while my mate had the drunken noodle with chicken. WOW to both! Thepho broth was perfect. It was aromatic right away, which gave me a sigh of relief. I'm always a little nervous about pho brothwhen I try a new place. The broth was complex without being overly heavy or greasy. The meat was perfect and tender. They bringout a spice tray and sriracha upon request, so you can customize your heat level. (Hotttt for me!) Our server even asked if Ineeded extra basil, jalapenos or sprouts! Bonus points for the thoughtfulness. The drunken noodles were so full of flavor andcooked perfectly. Writing this is making me hungry for a big ol' plate. My only issue now is that I'll be torn on my nextvisit.
