I think this place is worth trying out. The portion sizes are decent, burgers are more then plenty and sides are plenty as well.... They have large fry bowls for appetizers which are a great for sharing. The staff is friendly. Definitely a place to try. Read more
My daughter loved their make your own burgers, because she could put the very few ingredients she'll actually eat onto a... burger. The fries were fantastic and they offered gluten reduced beer (Omission) and Cider options. The outdoor seating areawas nice and large and dog friendly. Huge bonus! Plus our server was phenomenal. Hard to recommend. Service was fine. We had a really nice waitress. Food was fine but slow to come out of the kitchen. What... disgusted me was there were dead bugs in the light fixtures about the center tables. I?m pretty sure there was a roach in one ofthem. I know they are around but that needs to be cleaned. On my journey to try every restaurant in this town, my urge this time was a burger. Boy oh boy did Citizen Burger Bar delivered.... The burger was delicious and cooked perfect to my liking. It was a bit busy (10PM), but I got a seat at the bar where the bartender assisted me. He made a mean gin tonic. The atmosphere is just a typical sport like bar. Food delivery time was pretty onpar. Back to the burger! It was nice and juicy, and the fries were made to perfection. I don't have any complaints on my burger.I ordered the Citizen burger, with jalapenos and jack cheese sub. Read more
My wife and I enjoyed a 4-day trip to Charlottesville and discovered Citizen Burger Bar. It was so good that we visited three... times! The staff was super friendly, they had a great selection of beers, and the burgers were out of this world amazing! Thisis how burgers should be made! Whenever we return to Charlottesville this will be our first stop. Kudos to all the staff forbeing so amazingly friendly and helpful. Read more
Fantastic burgers! We stopped in for an early dinner and ordered the Shashito pepper appetizers, The Peoples burger, The Citizen... burger, and Baby Shark pale ale beers. The burgers were perfectly cooked, the fries are flavorful and crispy, and the beer was aperfect light complement to the meal. The staff was friendly, prompt, and efficient. Read more
Atmosphere was really chill. Table, bar and outdoor seating is available. Very nice drink list. Menu is average in size, not... limited but not huge. Service was excellent, however due to how busy they were it took about 45 minutes to be served ourentrees. Food was good but not incredible. I would go again to try other appetizers and burgers. Came here late on a Friday night. My family was seated right away and was given the option to sit inside or outside. We opted to... sit inside. Our server came to the table almost immediately with water and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Small menubut the burgers were huge and delicious. The fries were also very tasty. All our orders and apps came out great and hot whenthey arrived at the table. I'm usually not the biggest fan of "burger joints" but Citizen Burger is worth a try. Read more
