I went in for the first time. I typically have vegetarian based meals during the week and was pleasantly surprised about the... variety they had available. I ordered the Blue Plate. We were visiting from Alexandria and so glad we chose to eat here. The fried oysters were delicious! I don’t care for celery... but the fact that they were pickled made them very tasty. I had the beef tenderloin which was perfectly cooked and tender. Myfriend had the special which was grilled rib eye and was delicious! Definitely a fine dining experience and would highlyrecommend. Excellent dinner and drinks on the mall in Charlottesville! Drink wise, the Dark Horse and the Gin based Old Fashioned were... spot on. I questioned the waiter on the Gin old-fashioned, and he described it spot on. Highly recommend. Food-wise, starterswere scallops, haloumi and ham Biscuits. All were sooo tasty. Split 2 mains betwixt us. Fish of the day was Swordfish and itwas perfection. The grilled Tenderloin called to us through the blue cheese potato souflee.. mic drop on that one. We had a delightful dinner here while visiting. We sat outside which, in my opinion, had a better vibe than inside. Inside was... fine but the outside really shines with its location on the pedestrian walkway! We had a great server. The food was definitelythe highlight though. The halloumi was perfect, as was the soup of the day. My husband had the beef tenderloin which heproclaimed was the "best steak" he's had out, and he doesn't say that lightly. I had ghe shrimp and grits which was very uniqueand delicious, much lighter and fresher than most. The dessert was absolutely amazing as well! Highly recommend this for awonderful, romantic dinner while visiting Charlottesville. You won't be disappointed. Read more
We liked this place ok. The vibe felt right but the hostess was less than kind, was extremely put out that we were early, could... have had a drink at the bar but was not set up for that. We had the stuffed pasta and stir fry which were both great, came outquick and hot, but our server could not be bothered to BE OUR SERVER. Not sure what else he had to do or where else he had tobe but was not at all the help he needed to be for the type of restaurant this seemed to be. The table next to us was feelingthe same and we made conversation about it. So it wasn't just us. A shame because this could have been an all around greatexperience. Read more
A bit up and down on first try. Some items excellent - Pork Belly! - some good - Shrimp and Grits. Some average, oddly Crabcakes... which they are known for locally. Decor sort of odd, stuck between a table cloth place and a diner. Worth another try. Read more

Nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great bourbon selection to make include: Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace,... and Blantons. Grilled mushroom appetizer was fantastic, definitely recommend. Crab corn chowder also amazing. The mushroom pastawas okay, would try a different dish next time. Service was really good.
