I ordered Pad Thai, mild. It was extremely spicy. I asked the manager to taste, and tell me if he thinks that's mild. If so, I... said I can't come back, but if it's a mistake, I''ll gladly come back. He argued with me! He told me if I can't eat mild Thaifood, I shouldn't eat Thai food. I said I've eaten Thai for 30 years, and never tasted such a spicy dish labeled mild. I againasked him to taste it and tell me if it's his definition of mild. He argued some more. Sorry to bash a local restaurant... But the people deserve to know. I have tried dozens of Thai places, and I have to put this... in my top two worst experiences... I would describe the food to be basically cheap chinese food, without the price associatedwith cheap chinese food. Chinese food and Thai food are supposed to be very different! But, as I ate my cashew duck dish, Ithought it man this really tastes like some lackluster lo mein. No flavor whatsoever, the other three people in my group ateabout half and threw their meals away. I took mine home and only after adding a lot of different sauces did this thing becomepalatable... don't spend your money on the "duck". It can't say with complete certainty if it really was duck because thequality was so poor, it tasted like the beef chunks in cheap lo mein. This is is the best thai food in Charlottesville. Be prepared for flavor because this is Thai family-style. When you get the... lamb you get "bone in", son! Because that's where the flavor is!
