With less than one week's notice in June we needed catering for 60 people for a memorial service. Pearl Island was recommended... to us by another caterer and they came through for us in spades! They were a great help by phone and easy to communicatewith. The food (2 entrees and several side dishes ) was absolutely delicious! Everyone agreed it couldn't have beenbetter. Pearl Island catering employees dropped off the food (hot food hot and cold food cold) exactly as requested, on time, atthe close of our memorial service. A shout-out to Pearl Island for coming through perfectly, with only a few days notice,relieving the stress of making this important catering arrangement during a sad time for our family. Read more

I am altering my first review to add that you responded in a very timely way which leads me to believe that you care about your... business! I will be back because of you initiating a response that was adequate but will suggest that you clearly need bettercommunication and if your Fridays are that busy ensure that your staffing is adequate and your food supply is plentiful. It ishard when your order is placed and accepted that you could disappoint the folks that are patiently waiting to have yourdelicious food. I will say that the food was not up to your usual standards and the much loved plantains were not edible becausethey were ROCKS! Thank you again for reaching out as it does show that you care. There are many ways to take orders besideordering on line and if your phone is so busy perhaps you could add a fax line to take those calls and orders... just athought. 1st review: Called all morning to place a lunch order and no answer! Finally got an answer and they took all 16 ordersfor our employees. This was placed at noon and they told us to order online! We did that and on the way to pick it up theycancelled us!! Then told us it would be ready at 2:00!!! This was lunch! When arrived they argued with us and said they didn?thave enough food. They proceeded to serve others! Then told us it was supposed to be a catering order! How would we know sincewe spoke to the owner! Unprofessional and rude to us for their errors! The food is worth the extra aggravation but probably notafter that! Let?s see if they reach out? The owner seemed like when asking for compensation he was doing us a favor!Unbelievable! Read more
Yummy food and sizable takeout portions! We got the tofu curry and jerk chicken platters. Platters came with kale salad,... seasoned rice, fried plantains. Tofu curry was really flavorful with a thick coconut curry gravy. Jerk chicken was an unusualflavor that tasted to me somewhat heavy on cardamom. Read more

Best lunch spot in cville! Love getting the trifecta bowl with sous poulet. Chicken curry, and jerk chicken! Great vegetarian... options as well with the cauliflower being the best!
