Waitress was lovely and food was pretty good and came out very fast, but had to ask the wait staff to heat up the meatloaf which... came out luke warm. Trendy dinner spot in historic Belmont - food was great - steaks were cooked perfectly. Great drink selection and cool vibe -... feel freee to dress up or dress down…. I would have given 4.5 stars if it was an option only because the parking is achallenge in that area (Belmont) and the space is tight and cramped but overall highly recommended Read more
Great food, wonderful staff, good beer selection and even though they're was only one dessert, peach cheesecake, it, too, was... wonderful. There are only dining by reservation but with it! It is a big space with an outdoor area under a tent and a fewtables outside by the main door. Read more
Came here while traveling to VA for the first time. I saw the recommendation on Grace & Lightness’s website, when googling... restaurants to try in the Charlottesville area. This one did not disappoint! They gave me a daily specials menu, in addition tothe regular menu. Everything looked fantastic! I ordered the Steak & Frites from the regular menu and was very happy! It wasdelicious and came with a sauce that was just delightful. The restaurant does offer GF variations, although possibly just byleaving off sauces and such, rather than subbing with GF ingredients. This was the case with my steak - to make it GF I wouldhave received the stake without the sauce. The setting of the restaurant is quite charming, with many different areas/rooms -each having its own unique vibe. The area is a small commercial street near little neighborhoods. Parking seemed to just bestreet parking, upon availability. We made a reservation for a Friday night dinner. But at 5:30, there did seem to be plenty oftables. The service was certainly 4.5+ but I thought the food, for the price, was a little underwhelming. We came here before the... evening rush and ordered the Bison Hanger Steak (special) and Wasabi Pea-Nori Crusted Salmon. Both meals came out exceptionallyquick (which was a plus) and were good -- I especially liked the steak -- but for the price I would have liked a bit more steak(I would guess in total the steak was around 10 ounces). We finished the night off with the flourless chocolate cake which wasgood but I think we should have ordered something else (that's on us). Our server - Sydney - was lovely, very helpful andcourteous, and very attentive. It was a good experience overall and maybe we had higher expectations than we should (The Localcame recommended from multiple friends who spend a lot of time in Charlottesville). Read more
Really great quality food! I got the gnocchi bolognese and was very impressed. Very fresh and flavorful. Definitely a top choice... for dining in Charlottesville. The cheeseboard was also delicious! Read more
As usual, we were very happy with our food. The brussel sprouts/ cauliflower appetizer is so scrumptious. However this time some... of the Brussel sprouts weren't quite cooked enough. I tried something new, the salmon, which tasted delicious although I didn'tsee the wasabi pea crust. The goat cheese salad is one item I wouldn't bother with again. Our server was very sweet andattentive, but she made quite a few mistakes (delivering another foods table to us, giving my husband the wrong drink, and thesalad arriving after our entree). We were visiting and stopped here for dinner. It was very nice. The waiter was awesome! We were seated right away and our meal... came fairly quickly after we ordered. Everything came out hot and tasty. We particularly enjoyed the seasoned-fried brusselssprouts and cauliflower. Only complaint...knives were not sharp enough. Read more
