We were having a wonderful dinner, the waiter was nice and the food was great. Unfortunately approached by hostess towards the... end of dinner while still working on deserts and final drink and asked if we were aware of what time we arrived and that it wastime to leave…. Warning for anyone who enjoys decent customer service!! Wow where to start. I had two friends visiting from out of town and... looked forward to showing them the best of charlottsville. The older hostess at the front with grey hair looked me and myfriends up and down and asked if we had a reservation. We said no. She said she couldn’t seat us except outside. I asked foroptions for sitting by the heaters or ordering inside so we didn’t have to wait in the cold outside and she was incrediblydismissive with a surprisingly rude attitude that me and my friends noticed right away. When we decided to stay there because wewere hungry despite the poor service, she scrolled through her tablet as if trying to tell us that someone else had that table,though clearly no one else was willing to endure the cold either. She finally had us seated. Also, she was incredibly friendlyto the party in front of us, so I’m mot sure if something about our appearance was problematic for her. But considering wewere the only racial minority there, it certainly did feel racially charged. Service was so slow and we didn’t get any bread,not sure if that’s complimentary or not, and out waiter was so curt he never once made eye contact or smiled at us. Food wasokay. I’ve seen other people complain about the service in other reviews but wow, what an unfortunate experience. I genuinelydid not feel comfortable in this restaurant and will never return. Read more
We were one of THOSE parties that showed up on a Friday night without reservations, but luck was on our side and there happened... to be a cancellation. The gentleman seating guests couldn’t have been nicer and sat us at a table outside. The weather wasperfect so it was a win all around. Our server was awesome! She offered great recommendations and was a pleasure to interactwith. I ordered the Tagliatelle (house made) Al Ragu and it was phenomenal! All five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and theexperience overall. Will definitely be returning again, next time with a reservation! Read more
One of our favorite places to eat in Charlottesville. We have enjoyed a lot of their takeout and have had many great meals at... the restaurant over the years. We absolutely love having the pizza, Caesar, and the spaghetti/meatballs! However, the off themenu (for some reason) penne with vodka sauce is the best meal there. Enjoy! Read more

Went on Father's day and the place was packed. They were short handed so service was spotty and rushed. Wife ordered a salad and... it didn't come until dinner was served. Great building and location, decent atmosphere and saving grace was the food was verygood. The calamari was excellent and the meals were great. Hence a 4. Had a nice experience being a party of 5 adults and a baby. The atmosphere was very good, and the seating options are varied and... many. The bread was fresh baked and truly excellent, and the salad was tasty. 2 out of 5 entrees we're very good, 2 others werefine and the chicken marsala left much to be desired. It could be that I'm familiar with a different regional variant for thedish and was not expecting the right meal. The pasta sauce was interesting and tasted fresh in a good way.
