I call this place "The Hibachi that Tried". The hibachi was normal, the sushi was subpar. This is one of those sushi places that... permanently runs a 50% off sushi special so you're less disappointed when the sushi arrives tasteless and missing its' roe. The food was good. Really enjoyed the sushi, noodles were food. Fried rice was not the best but it was still alright. Also the... noodles were good. However, the service was pretty bad. The waitress stayed behind the bar the entire time. I watched 4 tableswalk out after waiting 15+ minutes and she hadn't even taken a drink order. One lady went up to ask her and the waitress in turnyelled and was rude. The customer told her she didn't have to be rude and the waitress basically said if she didn't like shecould leave. She spent the entire time behind the bar literally screaming and at one point shouted "I'm on my period" ...now I'malso a woman, but that was simply off-putting. My first visit to Hana steak and sushi was due to a graduation for a friend's daughter. The atmosphere was fun! There was even... a robot delivering items and playing music! However, we waited a really long time to be seated and even after that at thehibachi seating. And I do mean a long time. Once the person came out to do the hibachi, they were very nice and a lot of fun;but the food still didn't have the punch I was hoping for. They did seem to be understaffed. First (and last) time ordering. Chose vegetable rolls. Ordered TWO to-go with cream cheese instead of pickled radishes. Ummm.... Shouldn't look like a veggie tray. Supposed to have asparagus but these stalks were tough. Not sure why these and the carrotswere just stuck in the sushi. Very little cream cheese in four. I've gotten a lot more sushi at other places when I order tworolls....for the same price. Read more
I had lunch here two days ago and it was good the server was amazingly patient and kind. The food was good. However I was... disappointed to know that the GM/ owner spent 30k on the little robot to deliver food when the employees deserves a bonus or araise . Sad that they don’t even get a bonus of 500 or something. This company doesn’t value their employees. Read more
This place was really neat. I love the decor and they have a sushi robot!! My yummy roll was a little heavy on the cream cheese... but it did live up to it's name. My husband got a hibachi dish and he said it was delicious. Of note, we did show up just about20 minutes before they closed and received stellar service (white female, long hair). Not from Chattanooga, but would definitelygo back! Read more
There were five of us for dinner and every one of us enjoyed our different orders, even the two vegetarians. Our chef and the... waitress were fun and accommodating. The place would have received 5 stars from me if it felt a little more authentic, but I'ddefinitely recommend eating here at one of the hibachi tables! Read more
Good place to get Japanese food! The chef was excellent! The service was good. The food was the best part. I recommend this... place over most Japanese cuisine in the Chattanooga area. The only thing I felt was lacking was the atmosphere, it's clean but,needs a little more deserving design. That's ok though! Because it's a good restaurant with good quality food! Read more
