Went for the first time for lunch today based on a recommendation from a friend. Got there about 11:40 and were seated... immediately. I had checked out the menu and reviews in advance so we were able to order immediately. Only thing that wasn't onthe lunch menu was the scallop skewer, and I asked the server if it was available and she was able to put it in for me to try.Shared the skewer and the JFC as an appetizer. So good and the JFC came with a unique dipping sauce. I had the Tokyo Barbeecocktail and hubby had a beer. Both were wonderful. He had the Poke box and loved it. I had the Spicy Crab Garlic and it wasdelightful! Just the right amount of kick but the flavor profile was unique and not something I have had before. Unique and funatmosphere and easy to park and walk to. We will definitely be back! Read more

Definitely make a reservation if you want to go on a weekend. The small plates are very small. Like not really enough to share... with the table. The crispy rice spicy tuna was the best small plate. The garlic noodles were great, if you like aldente noodles. The Brussels sprouts were a hit. Read more

Cool underground location. Clean and hip looking inside. Food quality is good. This is a cool option for a business casual lunch... or dinner. Limited menu for lunch. Service wasn't great, but to be fair they seemed understaffed and/or slow on Monday lunch. Abit pricey, but given downtown location and post pandemic, that isn't surprising these days. Not an authentic Japanese Izakaya, just inspired by the idea. If you've been to them in Japan, this is more of an American hipster version. Read more

Strangely enough, they are known for ramen and their ramen is the worst ramen I've had in the US to this point. However, their... skewers are stellar. The ambience is fantastic. Other food besides ramen was delicious. Why? Wel, I'm so glad youasked... RAMEN: unmitigated disaster... so, things can be picturesque in a pretty bowl but starting w the pic, they put the eggin the ramen spoon. A huge no-no. But as I dove in, it got worse. Instead of a chunky, fat laced piece of pork in my tonkotsu,I had one extremely thin sliced piece of ... I don't know, pork loin? ... floating in my "ramen". The broth? Tasted more likewarm milk (and looked like it) than any tonkotsu I've had across the US. Even my home ramen is way better. And, the noodles....Oh my goodness. Like plopping uncooked spaghetti noodles into a milk bath. Very disappointing. YAKITORI was pretty goodactually. I had scallops on a skewer that were cooked to perfection, an avocado that genuinely surprised me as I hadn't seenthat take before (scorched them the center filled w a mustard ponzu and wasabi), tuna negori and chicken skewers - allfantastic!! AMBIANCE was great - Hailey was attentive and interesting and the decor is stellar. Read more

One of my all time favorite eats in Chattanooga. Warm atmosphere, unique menu, the food always tastes fresh. I've never had bad... service. All servers have been very friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend trying to takoyaki. My current obsession! Aperfect blend of southern and Japanese cuisine. Who knew! Read more

The restaurant is beautiful and has a cool vibe! It?s located downstairs at warehouse row, you can enter from outside or from... within the mall. After reading the reviews I gathered the top dishes to try were the Japanese fried chicken and the tonkotsuramen, and they were delicious! The portion sizes were very small, especially considering cost since it?s on the pricey side butthe food was overall good. I would recommend trying those 2 dishes, and the sushi is quite good too. The sushi and ramen were great! Very authentic experience. As a craft beer drinker I was a little disappointed with items on the... menu that were no longer available across several attempts to order beers on tap. I settled on a very nice beer from Hutton andSmith that was delicious but would love to have all the options available that were advertised. Great food, great service, andawesome environment. I would highly recommend. Read more

We got there a little before 6 and we had never been, so we didn't know you needed reservations and we're told it would be 7... before they had a table. So be sure you get a reservation. We were taken to a still wet half sticky table, but were not toldthat the wet tiny qr code in the middle of the table was the menu...15 minutes waiting later the server told us that and tookour drink order, I had seen the menu online already so I ordered gyoza... The server brought the drinks then disappeared longenough some other person dropped off the gyoza but with nothing to eat it with. It was 4 small dumplings which makes them $2 apiece and they were okay but not worth that. The server finally came back and got us chopsticks and took our order. My husbandordered a $13 dollar sushi that came on a plate smaller than the app plate and even though loosely wrapped and over priced ittasted good. My son and I ordered the tokotsu ramen. The noodles were too aldante and stuck together in places and they forgotthe thin one piece of pork belly that comes in it...we got it and it was burnt around the edges and tasted that way...in-between getting drinks and food we were abandoned by the server and our drinks were empty a while... just was reallydisappointing based on the ratings and reviews here.
