Great pub , Great food , full pours of draft ! My favorite is the Ceasar salad , it's awesome. Possibly the best Ceasar salad in... all of Duncan/ Chemainus / Millbay. The draft here is the full 20 ounce mug , not the 16 ounce sleeve like many bars commonlyserve. The staff are friendly , personable and always in a good state of mind. It's not hard to tell that they enjoy workinghere. I recommend this Pub / Restaurant every day of the week. Read more
This was my first time dining here, but it will definitely not be my last. From the decor, the drinks offered, the fantastic... menu, and the background music, the overall aesthetic really gave this place an authentic pub atmosphere. The service providedby Tyler was fantastic. She was kind, funny, and very attentive. Let's not forget her skills behind the bar, drinks were madequickly with great presentation, and above all else were delicious. The food prepared and presented beautifully by their cookKim, was by far some of the best food I have tasted in a long time. I was lucky enough to be there on steak night and my steakwas cooked perfectly, put together with the onions, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes topped with a delicious gravy made this mealhands down the best steak dinner I have ever had. If you're ever in the area I highly recommend you stop in and visit. Read more
Such a fun little pub. Old-school vibe. Everyone was chill and Happy. Loved the history too. The service was top notch! Jasmine(... hope I got your name right????) was a amazing ! Built in 1892 the ?Shoe? is where friends meet! Delightfully different! These hand made seafood crab cakes at the ?Shoe? will... thrill you. I was very surprised to find that each and every tasty bite was a delicious combination of scallops and spottedprawns, surrounded by crabmeat, served with red pepper jelly, wow! Nice old pub. Maple wood decor. Booths and tables Only 4 people in on a sat afternoon. Has that old pub smell, a bit of the... washroom and old carpets. Awesome. Read more
Visited Chemainus BC. Quaint pub with a sweet outdoor patio. Friendly locals and a good-sized menu. I ordered a seafood salad.... See pic. I was amazed at the generous portions of shrimp, salmon, halibut, etc. It was delicious! Not a beer drinker but pricesfor beer were super too. I would definitely return to The Shoe. Read more
Nice cozy little pub with lots of locals. Reminds me of the 90s minus the cigarette smoke. I got the quesadilla for 15$ and I... didn?t expect much but was pleasantly surprised. Servers were nice too. I?m from Vancouver and we don?t see many of these goodold fashioned pubs anymore. ???????? Read more
