Wonderful view. Great food. But hostile, sarcastic waiter (tall, thin, brown hair and beard) who didn?t seem to care we were... there or really want to wait on us. What a shame for the establishment. Read more

Wonderful ambiance and great option for fine dining on fire island. We had the rock shrimp, sea scallops, and roasted chicken. ... Everything was delicious - Reservations are recommended. Read more

We?ve eaten at Top of the Bay for years. In fact, my husband and I met there on a quasi blind date 19 years ago. This past week... we spent our first week long summer -post pandemic vacation in Cherry Grove. We were fortunate enough to eat at TOB 4 times! Each dining experience was better than the previous one. Food is top rate, service is better than any restaurant on mainlandLong Island, and the bartender will keep you coming back night after night. It?s by far the best eating establishment on fireisland. This is my second season visiting this restaurant. I do love the atmosphere and the wonderful views, but the food and floor... service unfortunately are inconsistent. For my son?s birthday they even forgot the candle for the cake and the surprise wasruined as I had to ask for one. When I told the owner about it he was indifferent. The service at the bar on the other hand isgreat, the lovely bartender is attentive, skilled and super nice. The mussels seems to be constantly good, and so is theirsalads and soup. They also have a wonderful and extensive wine menu. So you always have that together with the view to lookforward to. Read more

Is it the finest dining experience ever? No. Is it overpriced for no good reason. Duh. But I don't know a better place to have a... nice dinner in the Pines or Cherry Grove. I ordered the scallops and they were great. Usually these kinds of places will try toget away with cheap wine and obviously hike up the price, but I was actually surprised their wine selections were very good aswell. I will say this though their reservation system is wack. It's a simple fix, just do it. Read more

The best place for a cocktail and sunset viewing. They have a nice, if short, happy hour (buy one get one half off) from 5-6pm... and if you stick around longer, you'll catch that aforementioned sunset on the Great South Bay. Dinner usually requires areservation but has the feeling of a slightly-more-upscale experience than your typical beach restaurant. Worth a visit ifyou've never gone before. Read more
