A great place for Chinese food. Their chef special dishes are always great! One big difference is their fried rice. Many... other fast food Chinese places just maybe add some soy sauce to brown the rice and then put diced onions. This places puts egg,carrot, peas, and bean sprouts!! You can't find that at many other places. They are always busy with let's you know howpopular they are. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current Covid guidelines. I have lived in this area for 7 years?..in that time I have tried numerous places. Hands down?.THIS IS THE SPOT! I FINALLY FOUND... MY HOLY GRAIL FOR MONGOLIAN BEEF AND A VARIETY OF OTHER DELICIOUS FOOD! Normally I ask for ?spicy? Mongolian Beef and every timeI am not impressed. Not today! I love this place! You can get good Chinese food from anywhere BUT to get Excellent food and top notch customer service is a... little more difficult. They do both with ease. Disgusting! DO NOT BUY FOOD FROM THERE! Yesterday I brought the sesame chicken and the 3-4 pieces of broccoli in the entire dish... wasn?t cooked and taste like it wasn?t even clean. The Brown gravy or whatever it is that they call it that they make the sesamechicken with was too sweet and had a funny smell and taste to it. The actual chicken was OK but because the broccoli and gravywas so disgusted that just destroyed the whole meal. Oh did I forget to mention that the rice was dry and sticky. I?ve eatenthere quite a few times because I?m not one to try different restaurants. Once I find one that I like, I tend to go there quiteoften. I will give them this, they make very good shrimp and broccoli and they house special Chow Mei Fun or Pancit noodles arepretty good. That?s primarily what I?ve always brought from them. Other than that, I?ve tried a couple of other dishes and theywere/are disgusting. Even their fried rice and chicken wings isn?t good! How can they mess that up??? Had an excellent dinner from here Saturday night. This was my first time trying Golden Star and it was excellent. They're... located on Kempsville Road in the shopping center with the Walmart Grocery and the Wawa. A nice feature of Golden Star is thatyou can order online and then go pick it up (they don't deliver currently). They're only a couple of miles from the house so inno time at all, like 20 minutes, I was walking out of the place with dinner. In fact, they had it bagged up and ready to go as Iarrived. For my dinner I ordered Beef & Broccoli with veggie fried rice and a pork egg roll on the side. They also know how tomake some fried rice. It was brown, not that yellow stuff. The food was delicious, well prepared and the portion was huge. I hadabout half for dinner and took the rest to work for lunch. Also on your first visit, which they knew since I ordered online, youget a free soda from their cooler. I saved that for lunch also. Placed an order over the phone for pick up, must've repeated my order at least 3x, 2 of my 6 orders, were very spicy (chicken... lomein, chow mein). We called back and they offered to replace the one I complained about, asked us to bring the food back(which we did, because we pay for our food, we don't need free food), plus the inconvenience of 2 trips there.
