Went to Pirate's cove to have dinner with my Dad. I was less than impressed with the customer service. The waitress and manager... seemed to be annoyed that they had to take time out of their day to answer questions about the menu. Also, the crab dip barelyhad crab in it. It tasted like cheese with nothing else added. The manager came over and said it was shredded; we must havegotten the last of the pot with the least amount of crab. Other than that the fried fish and shrimp were good. They have a nicebeach/sea theme decor. I felt a little cramped withthe booths being close together in a smaller space. If you aren't carefulwhen getting up from your booth you could easily bump into the booth across from you. I give kudos for it being as clean as itwas. I would leave no stars if that was a option, even one star is very generous. I just left this location, after coming in for the... first time and it was horrible. I ordered the Tuesday special one pound of steamed shrimp and two sides. Upon the food coming tothe table I tried it gave it a fair shot it was EXTREMELY BLAND. No taste in the green beans or the shrimp just all aroundunappetizing. I?m typically not one to send back food but there was no way I would pay for what came out on that plate. So webrought it to our servers attention, she stated there was nothing she could do but bring over old bay and I politely declined.In my opinion it needed more than old bay to fix the meal which is fine, exactly why I sent it back. The owner decided to rudelyhover our table and stated ? there is nothing wrong with these shrimp and I?m not taking it off?. Very unprofessional right?Yeah so I take a picture of the food in his hand while holding this plate over the table and asked why not if the food is stillthere why would we pay for this plate of bland food. He ended up taking it off after this encounter, you can not force someoneto pay for something they did not eat I don?t care who you are. Or TRY to intimidate or force them to take it home. We left aitem in the restaurant and went back for it and he was gossiping to his servers about us. Not realizing we were in the buildingcan you say BAD BUSINESS. I should?ve check the reviews before going I see plenty of 1 star ratings I see why. Steer clear ?.unless you like mediocre service and bland food this is definitely your place. 17 of us made reservations for my sister's 60th birthday. We had a wonderful waiter Seth who did his best to take care of us... while waiting on other tables. He never complained and was very friendly. Several of us ordered the fried seafood platterthat has fish, shrimp, calm strips, osters and hush puppies. We got wings, salads, calamari, crab dip, cheese sticks, onionrings etc. The food was fresh and seasoned very well. My only complaint would be that 1/2 of the food did not come out hot. Ihad broiled scallops and they were room temp. I understand that places are short staffed but it was obvious that they held thefood so that they could serve us at the same time. I had to get my boss a Christmas gift card from my office so I traveled to... this quaint underestimated establishment and found another hidden gem ????. Clean environment, friendly staff. The decor is super cute and fun.. Our waitress Dory was so knowledgeable and pleasant. Went... for lunch and enough food that I ate and had enough for dinner too. Customers were social distanced and covid compliant. Iordered lunch special and substituted spinach casserole for the coleslaw and everything was good and tasty. Will definitely goback soon. Read more
