What a delightful experience! With my daughter and my beautiful bride, we just really enjoyed ourselves. If you remember the... old Smokey Joe's down at the Rod and Reel club, you will really enjoy the 1936. It is like an updated modern version of the oldrestaurant with more or less the same cuisine, especially the fried chicken. Drinks and food items on the menu we're reasonablypriced if you consider that this is a resort location for the DC metropolitan area. The selection was definitely focused onSouthern Maryland delicacies. I must confess that I might have even liked a little more selection of Southern Marylandofferings. Nonetheless, a very good sampling. We ordered the rockfish bites as an appetizer and the last time I had rockfishthis fresh and this good, I had caught it myself out of the bay. The Southern Maryland fried Chicken is definitely a "musthave" food item. But if seafood is your desire, I would heartily suggest the crab cakes. The beer selection was quite adequateand the cocktail menu look quite extensive as well. We did not have room for dessert, but it looked like a very yummyselection. The restaurant was not terribly busy but the service staff seemed somewhat stretched. We had to actually ask for ourcheck and the waitress only revisited us once. However to her credit, we were actually doing just fine. We will definitelyreturn to this establishment and try more of their delightful food offerings and drinks too. Read more
So sad i really wanted to like this place. I visited this place for the first time yesterday for happy hour. The drinks were... warm. The mussels were undercooked. The garlic bread (read - Texas toast from the grocery store) was also somehow undercooked. I'm not sure how the fried green tomato dish ended up on their specialties list - it lacked flavor all around and could'vebenefited from a sauce. Waitress was kind but she did not notice that our plates were essentially full when taking them away.The view is nice if you're sitting outside on their east facing patio. Read more
We were a group of 4 who came for dinner and were lucky with the weather. It was warm enough to sit outside. Outdoor dining... terrace offered wonderful views of the water and sunset. This created a wonderful ambiance for us and we thoroughly enjoyed ourmeals and our friendship. Read more
Went for an early Sunday dinner around 6 pm. This is essentially a sports bar with monitors showing games, a great menu, and a... large bar area in an octagon shaped building with water views. We had the charcuterie board, oysters on the half shell, musselsin spicy beer, and a salad. Food and service were excellent! The kitchen is open until 10 pm so is a good option for lateevening meals as well. I will be back! Read more
Great newly redone multi story restaurant in a cool octagonal size and shape reminiscent of an old lighthouse. Lots of TVs,... water views, sunset views, and a great food and beverage program make this a place to visit any time of day. Friendly staff, andattentive! Will be swinging back out to Chesapeake beach soon just to visit for a beer and a sunset. Read more

Both experiences I’ve had here have been amazing. The restaurant itself is very clean and has amazing views of the Chesapeake... Bay. Both waiters I had (Sydney and David) had exceptional customer service!! I highly recommend this place to others. Great location and atmosphere. Been here a couple of times. This time I got the foot long chili cheese dog with sauerktaut. Had... not had one in a long time. The dog itself was a bit salty for me. I will say that I am typically a chicken dog kinda girl andthis was beef so it was expected. Overall it was delicious! The dog was perfectly grilled and the chili cheese and kraft was onpoint. The fries were golden and perfectly crispy no ketchup needed! Great Choice! Will be polishing this bad boy off today. Read more
