This place was a surprise and a nice getaway spot. The food in the resteraunt was great.
Superb Customer Service !! Decided an adult timeout would be great for a few days so Rod N Reel Restaurant and Cafe was the... choice for me. First, the convenient parking garage was the foundation of the trip ;). I pulled up to the entrance of the garageand the arms were raised with signs reading FREE parking. Impossible for 4th of July but totally free :) ! Stopped in therestaurant and was immediately greeted at the entrance by an upbeat delightful hostess who promptly escorted me to a nice boothwith the perfect view of the Chesapeake Marina. The view consisted of beautiful sailboats, patrons utilizing jet skis, andcruises full of vacationers quietly floating in and out of the marina. As I was in awe of my spectacular view my waitressquietly approached; in such a calm and peaceful voice she introduced herself and offered her services. I then ordered my mealwhich consisted of the All-American breakfast with Biscuits and gravy (I was super hungry alright :) ). Each dish arrived within20 minutes; fresh and really tasty. I continued dining for at least 30 minutes. I stayed at the resort for the night whichopened an opportunity to enjoy an evening meal at the adjourning café which there I enjoyed Crabby Fries and 8-Fried Wings allwhilst the Karaoke Show took place on stage in front view of my umbrella covered table. I must say; this 4th of July has beenoutstanding all due to my decision to visit Rod N Reel Resort ;). Read more
Hadn't been to this restaurant for many years. It has grown and had more space under construction. They have turned the area... into a resort with a hotel and spa. Read more
Today on Memorial Day 2022 (5/30), my mother and I decided to leave home and honor my father, her husband who was funeralized on... 4/14 ( which would have been his 80th birthday). We waited for over an hour before we got bread, spoke to owner and finally gotserved. This while 2 families were seated and ate before we did. My father loved coming to Chesapeake Beach and loved thisrestaurant. My mom and I finally ventured out to be relaxed. The food is always good, but this was the worse service in terms ofthe wait. The view of the bay is really nice. I thought it would be busy for lunch today...it's a gorgeous day...but they only had four... tables. Good thing because there was only one waitress. I ordered the grilled pineapple and shrimp salad and had pineapple juicewith it. Neither the pineapple or the shrimp was grilled but that was okay. The salad was good, but the shrimp tasted bland.Overall, I enjoyed the lunch. Bil came to 20...plus tip. Read more
We believed that we would be staying on a beach of some kind only to find out not only was the beach was closed during our... stay, but so was the spa because of construction which the website never mentioned. On top of that the manager charged us extrafor checking out earlier because the hotel was not what we were excepting… not to mention the mini fridge was dirty along witha with few other things in the room and the beds were hard as rocks so I definitely didn’t enjoy the one night of sleep that Idid have here, I will never return to this hotel again. Once off hotel property there are some scenic areas but not if the beachjust a marina kind of area… Read more
Fooled by the looks and views. Fish and chips is certainly not a gourmet dish, it is simple feel good dish. The feel good goes... out the window when the server puts a plastic carry-out container with carry-out utensils in front of you on your table. Easy afternoon for an early lunch! Atmosphere pretty laid back! A little dated, still quite enjoyable! Appetizers of the cesar... salad & the lobster with fresh hot pretzel rolls! The freshness was amazing! The pretzel rolls were absolutely fresh and greatcomplement! Grilled wings were good. The fried wings had too much hair... Just ok!
