My husband and I went there on our 2nd year anniversary. While making our reservations, i asked the young lady over the phone,... if they did anything special for special occasions. Asked what my anniversary was and said they?d be happy to accommodate us.After dinner, we order dessert and i asked our waiter if the kitchen could write ?happy anniversary? on our plates. He repliedthat they don?t do that and the young lady shouldn?t have told us that. The best he could do was a candle. Of course we werevery disappointed. Wonderful location and tastefully decorated. We had to walk a little bit because they were filming a Hallmark movie and had... some of the streets closed off. My hubby absolutely adored the light up menus! Genius idea! We loved our dinner...absolutelydelicious. The only down side was that asked for a piece of Smith Island cake to take home (we finished our appetizer anddinner, but didn't have room for dessert) and we received what I thought was a very skimpy piece. I watched earlier in theevening a very ample piece coming out for another table. A little disappointing, but not a deal breaker. It was a great placeto celebrate a birthday, graduation or anniversary ( we were there to celebrate our 45th anniversary). WOW! Chesapeake City isn't exactly a bastion of culinary expertise but Prime 225 absolutely hits it out of the park! Make a... reservation or don't bother showing up, including the bar. Seating is limited so the feel is intimate but homey too. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful, exactly what you would expect in this type of restaurant. Let's face it, it's all about thefood with a restaurant and Prime delivers. The menu has more than enough to satisfy all different tastes, their wine menu isconsummate with the food menu and the prices are in-line with the quality of the food you get. We shared a couple of appetizersat our table, the crab dip and oysters were outstanding. I had the tuna and a bite of my sons filet, both were superior topretty much every other restaurant that isn't a high end steak house. If you live in the area you already know Prime, if you'repassing through or vacationing anywhere within 25 miles of Chesapeake City, make a reservation, your tastebuds will thank you. Read more
We went here for dinner last night for the first time and the food and service was excellent! All our entrees were delicious.... I'd give it higher than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely be back to dine here again soon and will recommend this place tofriends. The owner really thinks about the little details and it shows. Read more
We went here for our anniversary and everything was wonderful until it was time for our dinner. 30 minutes after our appetizers... were done we finally get our food which was cold. Since we ordered the Beignets ahead of time we asked for them to be packed togo since we had been there almost 2 hours. We get home to have our dessert and they are simultaneously burnt on the outside andraw in the middle. Not a great way to celebrate especially since our bill was over $200. Have a Love affair with Food? This is the place! There was definitely a few moments when Nobody else in the room existed as the... beautiful flavors expanded from the tenderness of the meats and vegetables! then there was desert! You most definitely want tosave room for the Loveless in these dishes! Everything that comes out of the kitchen Tasted and looked like it was placed withpassion and love!! The Staff was wonderful, know what pairs with what and moved like music thru the restaurant. We made areservation for a Saturday night, they were right on time.. eave a bit early to get us a table. its a small space but well layedout. minus the front door area. Absolute Perfection! Respectful manners when booking your reservation, short wait times upon arrival, the impressive atmosphere,... the courteous staff, and of course the food. I?m a business owner myself and was astonished at the fact that every aspect of themeal from presentation to service was flawless. I was highly impressed and will be returning quite often from now on. Whiledining we got the shrimp cocktail appetizer, filet mignon steaks, crab cakes, scalloped and baked potatoes, and finished ourmeal with espresso martinis, and they were all amazing and perfectly cooked. Our first time trying Prime 225. There were many amazing things and some were just ok. The menu has a backlight which is... brilliant. The she crab soup was ok but not as light and creamy as we've had from the south. The crab dip seemed more like aqueso. It had a good flavor but it was different than expected. Scallops were very good. The crabcake seemed fried even thoughI asked our waitress if they broil them and she said they did. I'd pass on it next time for that reason. Two of us got the primerib and they said it seemed to need more seasoning. The star of the night was the A5 Wagyu. Oh my it was amazing. Could haveused more salt but definitely worth the $180. Desserts were the brown Betty, beignetts and chocolate brullee. All wereexcellent. Read more
