Lovely atmosphere, live music, plenty of seats and tables. It gets a bit loud with the band playing too close. The food is tasty... but it took 30min just to get drinks, nearly 40mim to get starters... Not enough waiters for the amount of clients. Otherwise acool place to sit by the water and watch the boats pass by. There's also a scenic trail to walk or cycle. Read more
The atmosphere is pleasant with a view of the Chesapeake Bay from the outside dining or bar area. The food is good but you wait... at least 30 minutes for the food even if you just order an appetizer. This has been my experience every time. No othercomplaints. Plenty of parking and the venue added another lot. I enjoy the Ben Cardin biking trail which is a block from thevenue. Read more
Came here for lunch on the 4th of July and wasn’t disappointed. The space is huge. We were sat right away. The service was... fast and friendly. The food was incredible! We had the crab bruschetta, seafood stack appetizer, seafood salad, oysters and acrab cake sandwich. My favorite was the seafood salad! This place is a must if you love seafood! Read more
Schaefer's is worth every penny you spend there. Food is excellent. Variety of drinks available. Wait staff is friendly and... efficient. Didn't have to wait long for our order. Highly recommend it for a special occasion. Can't beat the scenery either! Read more
Best dinner I've had out in a very long time. Thank you. Perfect. I went again on February 17. I ordered scallops and risotto.... The scallops weren't cleaned so the grit was stil in there but the flavor was good. The risotto, however, less than desirable.It was very heavy, some overcooked, some under, very heavy on the oil. The waitress was also very short and didn't pay muchattention to my table. No drink refills, we barely saw her. She would walk away really fast when she did come to the table I hadto yell as she walked away to ask for a tea...even though my glass had been empty for a while. I couldn't finish my meal. Theshrimp was also overcooked but the steak was excellent. I'm just so disappointed as the first time I went, it was perfect.Delicious. So I have to lower my review to a 3. My family and I visited Schaefer’s Canal House for my mother’s 60th birthday. We normally go in the spring and summer to sit... out on the deck but the winter time is just as nice. We went on a Tuesday, which was comfort food night and we ordered ChickenParmigiana. It was outstanding. It was good portion size and reasonably priced. Our waitress, Erin was very nice and checked onus several times. My husband and mother had dessert which was plated nicely. Definitely a nice evening and will be back soon. Read more
Nice place in a great location. Right on the water with great views. Decor is a little dated. Drinks were delicious but the food... was just good. Not great. The menu has so many good looking seafood dishes on it, that we will definitely go back to give thefood another try. Read more
