WOW WOW AND WOW. YOU want the best burgers and fries you ever ate, this is the spot. Burger was huge, and tasted better than... homemade. Reminded me a bit of Bob's Big Boy in LA with the shredded lettuce and taste. Spicy fries were cooked perfect, and youget a drink for a combo ten bucks. You could split this burger for two, a dbl deluxe. I cannot remember enjoying a burger andfries like I had here. I have driven by this place for years, and missed out, never again will I drive past this. Came in beforethe big Sept.5th close, and got an unbeatable chocolate frosty shake, taco, and perfect crispy fries with soft center. Even theranch dressing is the best ypu'll ever have. Milk shakes are a tradition when we vacation every year. Can't come to lake Almanor without going to Pine Shack at least a few... times. The food is ok but the milk shakes are awesome. Read more

This is a great place to come and definitely a tradition of mine every time I?m in town. You are probably asking why the 3... stars. Normally when I come here I?d rate it a 4-5 but this time the bathroom was very dirty and my onion rings whereundercooked. That is a star for each. Pine Shack Frosty is a GEM! We had milkshakes, burgers and fries. First off, a really good shake made with real ice cream. ... Not too sweet, bits of strawberry in that shake and delicious chocolate shake that reminded me of an old soda fountainshake(most kids won't understand). The burgers were good. The French fries are top 10 for me. Crispy, hot on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. Super nice, friendly staff makes it a must to stop there anytime we're traveling through thetown of Chester. Read more
Such a nice roadside eatery! It's only take out only but there's plenty of outdoor tables with a little portable sink so you can... eat those really good ribs! I think the best is their fish wish which is just the best fish burger I've had in a long time!!Would like to go back here sometime! Read more
