Lunch at The Rope Loft in Chester, sat on the patio on a pleasant overcast afternoon. If calamari is on the menu, we usually... order it, as we did today. The addition of olives, onions and cherry tomatoes worked. The fish and chips also nice. Thin crispbatter, and tasty haddock. The wait staff was friendly, and service was quick. Worth the drive to Chester. Read more

My best friend and I showed up about 25 minutes to close after the spa and they welcomed us with a friendly demeanour. I ordered... the seafood chowder bowl and it was delicious - worth every cent! My best friend ordered the club house and she enjoyed it. Read more

Quality service with a quaint touch of harbourfront views. Our server gave great recommendations! I had the black bean burger... which was a 4/5 only be because I wasn?t a fan of the spicing in the patty but it?s very standard if you like that style veggieburger. The beet salad was great. My friend had pan fried haddock with the beet salad and both she said were simplydelicious. We shared a side of onion rings and for dessert had the berry apple crumble with French vanilla ice cream and WOW,star of the show! Would recommend for a cute lunch spot in the Chester area. Ver knowledgeable about celiac and gluten free diets. The waitress could even tell me what was made in the same fryer and what... was not. The beet salad was divine and the fish cakes incredible. Would definitely recommend. Read more

This place has amazing views and amazing food. A little breezy by the water. We ate our main course on their upper deck then... they offered us inside dinning for coffee and dessert. I?ve tried a number of chowders and the chowder here was easily the best.Well worth the money, just LOADED with fish it was fantastic (I got the haddock chowder). The shrimp taco was also amazing.Other memebers of our party tried the pan seared halibut and seafood chowder. Everything looked and tasted amazing. This placedid not disappoint. The waitress was also good and was filled with recommendations. The dessert we tried was an apple andblueberry crumble which I would also get again. Loved everything here. If you want to sit outside bring layers to stay warm butit?s worth it! Read more

Was a great first time experience. Reservations recommended. We didn't have any and had a small wait of 30 minutes. The food was... great.. and since I'm allergic my spouse informed me it was the best seafood chowder. Kids enjoyed meals. Small children'sselection but that was expected. Wait for food was on the high side. 45+ minutes. Which for adults enjoying drinks would notbe an issue. Probably not the best for a quick stop with hungry children. Busy area in warm summer days so parking can be veryhard to find. Read more
