First time to Riptides! For a salt water feel and flavor Riptides is the closest thing in Chester. They had live music which was... pleasant, and outdoor seating. Its a very nicely decorated and maintained restaurant. Our server was kind and professional, butthe main drawback was our mojitos. They were too sweet and barely had any alcohol in them. The prices listed on the menu arereasonable except for the crab cakes. My ahi tuna was prepared well, and the flavor of the rub was handled nicely. The hushpuppies were good but served with a large amount of butter as a side, which some may enjoy but seemed like overkill sincehushpuppies usually have a slightly buttery taste already. Potentially another dipping alternative could be better. The friedsquid was light and crispy, and the marinara sauce was savory as well. This was my first visit as I've passed the location many times in my travels. Went to dinner with some dear friends. Atmosphere... was nice, hostess friendly and our server too, however, you could tell they had a management change or adjustment by the newnessof the staff details. Example, not bringing small plates to share appetizers for distribution. The food was simple, yetdelicious, especially the scallops in my Linguine Pescatore. (See photo) I had a house salad and crab bites with a spicyremoulade which was divine! I used a little remoulade for my salad too on the side. With a little minor training for the detailoverlooked, it could become a seafood lover's favorite local fare. Read more
One of the finest Seafood restaurants in town. Don?t let the seafood title fool you, the steak and burger selections are... surprisingly delicious. The crab bites are the most to have as starters and the SheCrab soups is to die for. This place isalso kid friendly, kids menu that you can draw on with great kids food selections as well. Enjoyed a nice dinner here. Started with the calamari which was perfectly cooked nice and tender served with the delicious... marinara. Also got a nice salad with my meal. Their blue cheese dressing is excellent. Order d fried seafood dinner and it wasfried perfectly. Even though they're tartar sauce is not homemade it is very good and complimented the meal well. Also got acrab dip to go although there isn't a lot of dip it was still very tasty. I would come here again. The staff were excellent veryvery friendly and covid compliant. Read more
Me and my wife ate here for the 1st time , we had gator bites as an appetizer she had fish and chips and I just had a... salad(chicken). Not a big seafood person but the fish was good. Staff were great, environment was nice as well. Read more
Riptides was great and I highly recommend it! They offer seafood with a southern twist. Our waitress was extremely polite and... the wait for our food was short. We ordered the lobster ravioli with the house salad. Both were delicious and filling. We alsoordered the crab bites as an appetizer and were very pleased with them as well!
