This place is beautifully decorated. The waitress Emilie was so helpful and she made me a drink that was delicious. The Manager... came to talk to me about the different drinks from other countries and made me comfortable being in a new state and place. Read more

Great Spot w retractable rooftop bar area. Excellent pizza. However food service is slow.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I have to say I was a little nervous when I saw the 4.1 overall. I do not know... if ownership transferred recently or what but it?s not the ?magical? place I remember. Downstairs the cocktail list isunderwhelming. My partner ordered a Manhattan which was fine except there was lipstick still on the glass. We decided on 2 apps,the octopus, and the sausage and peppers. The octopus was SPECTACULAR as always. The sausage and peppers was cold when it cameout. Even the cast iron it came out in was cold. We asked for it to be warmed up and the staff was accommodating. They broughtit back piping hot, but when it came back, we noticed we did not like the flavor profile at all. It tasted like sausage inBuffalo sauce (I?m not a fan of Buffalo). I don?t think they added anything weird to it but for one reason or another beforethey reheated it I didn?t realize how horrible the flavor was. The crab bisque was awesome but over salted. We decided after afew bloopers to just split one entree together. The lobster stuffed shells were very good. The service was pretty good, thesausage and peppers was still on the bill as expected since they fixed it. After our meal, we went upstairs where the cocktailmenu was WAY cooler. I think the cocktails could?ve been made better. I think the bartender struggled a bit with her ratios.Other than that though she was very good. Went for an early lunch on a summer Saturday and we received one of finest experiences of dining out. Nice ambience, friendly... staff from the moment you walk in till out the door. The food was better than we expected after living and dining in Chicago foryears. The chef is sensational with the menu, the presentation, and the layers of flavors that so satisfied the palate. We had made reservations for the downstairs portion of the restaurant, however, we swerved and decided to try the rooftop bar... since it was such a nice night. When we got upstairs, we found a table and were given water almost instantly, however it took40 minutes before we got menus and I had to ask for them in order to get them then. There seemed to be one waitress for thewhole rooftop and she was not coping well as there were parties at nearly every table. The person that brought us our waterdidn't appear to be an actual waitress although we were unable to discern her actual role. Eventually, the bar tender took overour service "to speed things up" (in his own words). I will say that the featured cocktails were fantastic. However, I hadordered a glass of red wine initially and it came out nearly hot as opposed to room temperature. We ordered the Pork Bellyappetizer and there were signs (the plate and the lettuce were hot to the touch) that it had been microwaved before it wasbrought to us--it also left something to be desired. We just had a wonderful meal this evening with our two sons. Even with some pretty tough food restrictions for our boys this... restaurant came through big time. My husband got the lasagna and I got the chicken parmesan. We ordered a personal pizza for thetable and each of the boys cut some spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was wonderful and the meatballs are homemade and itshows! For dessert we were able to get sorbets, also made at the restaurant, for the boys and myself and a latte for my husband.We don't live in the area but if we did we would be back this restaurant for sure!
