We had a Birthday Lunch at Capital Grill in Bethesda. We were greeted at the entrance, wished Happy Birthday and escorted to our... table. The table was decorated for my birthday. I’m very disappointed with my visit around lunchtime on Friday. I ordered two calamari appetizers and a cup of lobster bisque.... Unfortunately I didn’t realize the issues until I had brought the calamari to my colleagues for a meeting we were having. Thecalamari breading was soggy, it tasted different and flavorless, and I found out some of the pieces were undercooked. They werestill purple like they are when they’re raw. The lobster bisque tasted like milk. I’m not used to this poor quality fromCapital Grille. I expect way more from a quality restaurant. I was so embarrassed when it was pointed out that the calamari wasraw. I suggested the place and I treated them. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, not that that’s an excuse, so I don’tunderstand. While driving back from seeing our children and grand children in Virginia my wife and I decided to get out of traffic and make... a stop for lunch at Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase. Unfortunately, they didn't have a restaurant there. However, just outsidethe door in the courtyard is The Capital Grille. What a place! My wife and I shared a plate of Calamari. Then my wife had theRibeye medium well while I had this cheeseburger with parmesan fries. Dang! This meal was really good.
