Glad to see that I am not the only one with a very bad experience...A nice and warm evening of November, I decide to eat out on... a terrace. The restaurant looks adorable, beautiful deco. I look at the menu and decide I can definitely find something nice toeat in this decor. When I got informed that ALL the tables outside are reserved. There is NOBODY outside, it is not even 6 pm. Iask if they can accommodate me since I am alone and will finish my meal before the reservations arrive. They check their tablet, and confirm: it is impossible to sit people outside because people have reserved for in one hour ! I cannot believe. I decide totake my time to go around and find another restaurant and I walk for 20 minutes, looking at menus and atmospheres. When I passagain in front, the terrace is still EMPTY ! They are waiting for people to come in one hour. imagine if you are the real ownerof the restaurant.... I will be so angry ! End of the story: I ended up in a lovely, absolutely delicious restaurant across thestreet, spent a bunch of $ on treating myself, including appetizer, entree, dish, wine, cocktail and dessert, and giving a verygenerous 30% tips (well deserved) Your loss. Hopefully the restaurant owner will read this review: time to change your teambuddy ! Read more

I gave Buck 5 stars 6 years ago and I’d do it again today. The fried oysters are consistently outstanding - not an easy feat.... Their cider (Lieu Cheri) is one of my favorites. Everything on the menu is great. It changes from time to time but not too muchto throw off regulars. Read more

Literally one of THE WORST dining experiences I have had…. And I eat out a lot. I’ll provide more detail below for those... who are interested. 1) We were a group of 5. 4 of us showed up at 8p, and 1 more was going to join us at 8:30/45. The first 4of us sought to get drinks at the bar. They encouraged us to grab our table and order with our waitress. We took their leadand sat at our table. Menus and water came, but then no one came back to take our drink orders. They were just waiting for the5th person to show up. Understandable. We went back to the bar after 10+ minutes to order drinks, they apologized profusely, and sent the waitress over right away. 2) We then ordered drinks, including one for the person who had not yet arrived. 15 moreminutes passed, and no drinks came. Turns out they couldn’t figure out the ingredients for one of the drinks, and instead ofask us OR bring the other four drinks, they just made us wait… until we complained again. 3) Finally the drinks came and theytook our food order. After a decent wait (and, mind you, it was not that busy that night), they brought 3 of our 5 dishes out. Those with dishes started eating. The remaining two dishes *never came.* After 10+ minutes of waiting, we complained again, they rushed to check with the kitchen, and then apologized (for the Nth time) that the orders had not been input correctly. 4)We then ordered another round of drinks while waiting for the additional dishes to be made. 15+ minutes later, those drinksfinally arrived. We were steamed that they couldn’t get anything right. 5) When the burger finally arrived (one of theoriginally missing items), it looked great. We had ordered it medium — intentionally not medium rare because we didn’t wantit all that pink on the inside. The center of the burger was RAW BEEF. In their rush to address the missing items, theyseverely undercooked the meat. No other way to describe this experience than (a) HORRIBLE for us as guests, and Read more

I usually come to buck's since it's consistent and a nice spot for a pleasant dinner with friends. The food is fine, nothing to... write home about, but pleasant enough. I have never thought the service to be lacking, but was shown out quite rudely by thestaff when the restaurant was closed for a private event. Of course my friends and I were not intentionally crashing a privateevent. Put up a sign. I will take buck's off my list in the future. Read more

Consistent, Cozy, Expensive. For a long standing neighborhood restaurant, this one leans towards the expensive side. It is a... small space. So reservations are recommended. Try the bar area if there is only two in your party. Service across mostrestaurants has been impacted by COVID. Bucks is no exception. We had one waiter serving more than her share of tables. Whilethe waiter was helpful and gracious, waiting too many tables impacted her ability to be attentive and engaging. The food isconsistently good but pricey. Unlike other restaurants, Bucks has not modified it's menu selections due to the pandemic. Read more

Walked up on this place four minutes before they opened. They requested that we wait outside for a while. Perhaps to finish... pre-shift. Fine. Everything was fairly tasty. The cornmeal fried oysters were a hit with my cousin and I. The wedge salad had atart/citrus but savory taste to it. Topped with yummy thick cut bacon. Entrees were sort of bland. I enjoyed the cauliflowerpurée and sprouts. However, the scallops had a rough texture to them. I’m not exactly sure why they tasted rough/dry. Usuallyscallops have a soft, buttery taste to them. My cousin did enjoy the lemon caper sauce. I’d say the sauce was enjoyable. Wealso ordered the crab cakes, please order with caution. They aren’t lump crab, if you’re a local. No pic because the dishdid not look appetizing. Reason I’m rating this place a two is because I go to restaurants for more than ambiance. I go forfood and service. The server was nice and knowledgeable. He neglected to inform me that he charged me twice after we requested asplit check. My cousin paid and tipped in cash. After calling the manager tonight when I noticed, she said she couldn’t findthe check. I told her I can email everything to her. I asked for email address and she told me it was on the website. Secondinconvenience. I went to website and there’s no email address. There’s nothing about this place that would make me returnafter the manager on duty’s communication with me. Do better. Read more

I had the Impossible Burger which came with fries and ketchup and I added cheddar cheese to the burger. The burger looked and... tasted so real but it was definitely all plant based. The french fries were amazing. Our waiter asked if we wanted any ketchup, mustard, or anything else. I asked for the mustard and it was Dijon, very delicious! Read more

Lovely neighborhood joint with a Brooklyn vibe. Laid back, excellent food and interesting art. I had the steak, and the tomato... salad, both were great. My companions had the burger, carrot dip and meatballs. The meatballs were too rubbery (over-ground) buteverything else was great. The carrot cake was one of the best I have had as well. Read more
