This was the first time that I've eaten Cuban food. This is a popular restaurant and when we arrived there for our 8pm... reservations on a Saturday it was packed and the only available table was small and located right by the hostess booth. Wedecided to stay anyway. They were so busy that we didn't receive the best service but the food was good. This is also a byobestablishment. Read more

This is BYOB establishment, so if you want to consume any alcoholic beverages, you must stop by a liquor store on your way and... bring your own spirits. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food, it's just like a cafeteria with a premium priceand very small portions. Nothing like what you can get at "Calle Ocho" 8th street in Miami Florida The service is none existent, our waitress just kept on disappearing for long periods of time and kept on forgetting to bring us items that we asked for likesilverware, lemons or limes, water, napkins. Even when we asked for our check, we had to wait about 25-35 minutes to get it andanother 15-20 minutes for our receipt. She simply was more interested in social media and her phone. I had the "Salmon a laPlancha" and it was way over cooked tried to get the waitress attention to see if they could remake it, but she just disappearedand I ended up eating the fish jerky. To be fair, the calamari creole or "Calamar Criollo" is very good and the shrimp empanadas"Empanadas de Camarón" are delicious. If I ever go back, I'm going to skip their entrees and stick to the appetizers. Theentrees are too small and the quality is below average, it's just not worth the price. I also agree with some of the otherGoogle reviewers that commented that this place is filthy. It needs a deep cleaning and they also need to pressure wash all ofthe tables in their patio. Read more

I invited two of my board members to join me for lunch here at the 90 Mile Cuban Café, just to share this dish. It was so worth... it. The atmosphere, hospitality, and affordability of the food. Dee Alexander, a jazz singer, posted her visit, and I justhad to come try this awesome MP, Grilled Snapper. Read more

Went to celebrate a birthday in the family. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating! The food was delicious! We... ordered empanadas, Ropa Viejo, tostones and Cuban sandwiches. You MUST TRY THE EMPANADAS! We were a large party but were givenexcellent service. They even brought out cake and pastries, and sang happy birthday with traditional Cuban musical instruments!Such a great experience! Definitely going to return! Read more

I wish I could give the Armitage location 10 stars. I have dined here twice and they NEVER disappoint. I took my sister and... niece to lunch and they were equally as pleased. We ordered the chicken and beef empanadas for starters. They were fried toperfection and seasoned to please. Our entrees included the yellow rice with beans, the cuban sandwich, and Ropa Veija sandwicheverything was fresh and delish. For dessert we shared the Tres Letche cake. I cant wait to go back! OMG! I had been wanting to come here forever because being Cuban just makes you proud of all things Cuban- if that makes... sense. A friend recommended this spot and I really come for the hopes of it being authentic to its culture before anythingelse. And then the vibe/atmosphere of the place, of course. I came into the restaurant and it already felt like the Cubanculture was gushing out of the walls. From the little 90 miles tube in Key West to the Bacardi shade umbrellas to the colorfulbar inside to the Caja China in the outdoor area to the influential people from Cuba- there was an influx of culture everywhereyou turned. It was amazing! Then came the food/ menu. Everything’s still on a QR code from covid, so it was designed verynicely! Lots of colors and accents to it, matching the scene of everything else. The food felt homemade- which is hard to saybecause restaurants usually don’t cook that way. I think I’m also a little homesick; but that’s besides the point. TIP:it’s BYOB and they give you coolers! Definitely helps with the cost of it all if you’re trying to save a bit on all Illinoistaxes with alcohol. The atmosphere, food, spanish speaking people— I missed it and I would come here again and again!!Definitely the best Cuban spot in Illinois! Read more

Very delicious Cuban food. We came here late at night and the only struggle was to find parking but that is what happens when... you go out in Chicago. We devoured all our food and can't wait to come back. The staff was kind and quick to attend to us.Hardworking people ready to help. Our food was ready more quickly than we expected since the place was packed (9:00 PM on aFriday). They have lots of tables and even outdoor seating. I love their decor! Muy rica comida cubana!
