Reviews for Athena Greek Restaurant in Chicago, IL
Food was good, and the service I felt was nice too. They come around frequently and ask if there’s anything they can do. Lamb... chops weren’t my favorite for the price. Best Saganaki I’ve had though! Read more
We visited during Greek Fest Chicago. Even then, the line to enter moved fast. We got in with a 20 min wait vs other places... that were 90 min. The food was good and ample. We all ended up with about half boxed up to go. The atmosphere was nice. We satin the patio with retracted storefronts. A nice Mediterranean vibe. We would go again. Read more
Went here May 2021 for dinner on a Monday night. It wasn’t too busy but we still had a reservation. We ordered the Flaming... Saganaki, shared the Paidakia (4 Lamb Chops, Pilaf Rice and Potatoes) and then got an extra side of rice pilaf. The FlamingSaganaki was the fan favorite, almost every table ordered it and it was always really interesting to watch. Food was decent. Read more
A Greek restaurant in Greek town that transports you to Greece. Athena is dreamy, it’s vibes are breezy with one of the best... patios this city has seen. And the food is scratch made deliciousness! Loved the ambience and decor of this Greek restaurant. Friendly service and convenient location in the West Loop. For lunch, I... ordered SPANAKOPITAKIA and Braised Lamb. The lamb was just okay to be honest. I didn’t care for the tomato sauce much.Although the lamb was very tender, it didn’t have much flavor. Overall I enjoyed my experience. Perhaps I’ll try the lambchops next time to see if that’s better. Read more
Athena was recommended as the place to go in Chicago’s Greektown, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and overall vibe... were outstanding. It’s a big place with great energy without being too loud or over the top. Our waiter was friendly andknowledgeable, helping us pick a wine that went well with our food choices. Everything was delicious. The lemon chicken soupwas wonderful. You can’t skip the saganaki! The flaming cheese is so good and just part of the experience. It goes well withall the pita and dips too. For mains, we had the gyro platter and Greek salad with chicken. It was all so good! We had afantastic date night and would recommend Athena to anyone.
