Good place...kind owner. Only thing not enough veggies in dish and orange chicken was a disappointment.

China Wok is my go-to Chinese restaurant. They have lunch and dinner specials that include an entrée, fried rice, and an... eggroll. First, let's talk about the eggrolls. Chicago Chinese restaurants are better than any others that I've had in thenation for one simple rule that China Wok adheres to - a little bit of peanut butter in the eggroll. Not a lot, just enough toadd flavor and to give the filling that perfect, drool inducing, consistency. China Wok makes my favorite eggrolls in the city.I used to be a huge fan of Pekin House on Devon because of the peanut butter in the eggrolls, and I was SO sad when they closed.China Wok satisfies those eggroll cravings though, so much so that I sometimes stop there just for two to get my fix. Thelunch/dinner specials are packed with food. I can easily split one special between me and my daughter. My go-to entrees areOrange chicken, General Tso's chicken, Mongolian Beef, Andy's lo mein, and the Kung Pao Chicken. All of these items are supertasty, and the fried chicken pieces in the orange and General Tso chicken are meaty without TOO much breading. The rice isreally good too. Even when I order delivery everything comes nice and fresh with my Orange chicken saucy, but still crispy. Iusually call the restaurant for delivery, and they typically have it to my house within the hour. Last time I picked up theparking lot was kind of full, but there was someone dressed like Pikachu dancing across the street, so that was cool. The manand woman that are usually working are very sweet. One time they forgot something in my order, and credited my account. I forgotthe next time I ordered, but they didn't. They sent the extra item without me even asking. I will legit be SO SAD if anythingever happens to China Wok, so go check them out! You won't be disappointed. Read more
The food is really good! I?m never disappointed. And I absolutely love the employee who runs the front. She has beautiful energy... and is extremely friendly! Where they lack in portion, the make up for in quality. The orange chicken I ordered used more of a fish stick breading with all... white meat that was very fresh and delicious. Definitely a great spot. Read more
I appreciate that they got the food out in 15mins and also took our order before opening. But the raving reviews about the fried... rice were not that true. Shrimp was undercooked. And they charged us 50$. For that price I would expect quality food. Adding ofegg was definitely a plus. Read more
Why is there chicken slimy? I wouldn't mind paying extra for fresh stuff ???? anyone know of A GOOD Chinese place
I've been eating here for years. They're quick to process and cook my order. Always a great taste.
