I was really disappointed by this place after seeing so many good reviews. Food quality: If you’re looking for an authentic... Korean place, this place isn’t it. The food was okay, it just wasn’t Korean. They didn’t have good ventilation so it gotvery smoky in there and my eyes were getting so dry. But I did like the sides they gave. There was a variety to snack on andthey had unlimited refills. There was kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cake, pickled radish, marinated potato, and the sweet blackbeans. I did like the seafood pancake, it was crispy and i thought it had a good balance of seafood and batter. I’ve alsoordered takeout from them a different time. I tried the tteobokki (Korean rice cakes) and I didn’t like how thick the ricecake was, but if you’re a fan of that, you might like it. The japchae was also very disappointing because there wasn’t muchflavour, it was salty enough, but it wasn’t the right sauce most Korean restaurants use. They also didn’t provide any sidedishes for takeout. Service: We came at a busy time so service was a little slow, but that’s understandable . Such a comforting little KBBQ restaurant with amazing food and service. The waitress kept cooking the meat for us when we were... too busy scarfing down the rest of the food, and was just so kind in general. The menu makes it really easy to order for groupstoo! Me and 2 others ordered kimchi fried pancakes and a kbbq combo for 4 people. We were seated, served, ate, and paid in alittle over an hour - they were super fast! The price is very affordable too. The food is very good, huge portions even though it says its for 2. You could feed 4 off of a 2 person menu, and the prices are... excellent! Def a 5 star for service, quality, and pricing! The most reasonable and authentic Korean Restaurant in Chicago. We ordered a course for 4 people ($65) and they gave us all the... side dishes for free. They cooked for us and we were literally enjoying all the great flavors. 4 different meat including KoreanBulgogi, Galbi, pork belly, shrimp, and chicken. It's crazy! The owner is super friendly and it's such a great place for a greatflavor. $100 for 4 men, we were too full to finish. Just go there! Read more
The food looked delicious. It's a shame I never got to taste it. We went out looking to enjoy ourselves and see what the rave... was about, but unfortunately we had a terrible experience before even having a chance to eat. As our party of three was waitingto be seated, a family walked in after us attempting to cut the line. Once we were seated, the aforementioned family who brushedpast us by the entrance walked up to our table and a female adult related to us that they had reservations and we were sittingat their table. Maybe this explained their initial sense of entitlement when initially walking through the door. Naturally, westood up and surrendered the table even though we had been properly seated by restaurant staff. Still confused, we approachedthe staff and asked why there was a mixup about us being seated and then being asked to surrender our table shortly after. Thestaff responded by saying that they do not accept reservations and that their policy (which wasn't conspicuously posted) was afirst come, first serve basis. The staff member also stated that we would have to wait approximately another 30-40 mins to beseated again. After the restaurant refused to offer a reasonable solution or accommodate us for our inconvenience we decided toleave and go elsewhere. Even after acknowledging that the family who swindled us out of our table did wrong they did nothing toaddress the problem. I hope management can make this right and prevent other potential patrons from suffering the same fate inthe future. Read more
