The pork chop and chicken tamales are world class delicious. But can we also give them a shout out for the most athletically... pleasing, smelling and visual bathrooms? 5 star facilities as well. Ar anyrate, when you go ask for Vincente. He's 23, theowners son and a fantastic bartender. Ask him what the special of the day is and he'll make your taste buds sign. GREAT PLACE TO EAT! I just moved to Irving Park (near Horner) coming from downtown. The promise of cool walkable neighborhood... restaurants was a big draw - El Alebrije (4114 N Kedzie) is EXACTLY what I hoped to get. I have eaten there two times in thelast week. I am a Texas girl - this is NOT my beloved TexMex - but it is actually something better - real Mexico flavor! Mostpeople are seduced by enchiladas and fajitas but what Mexico really knows well is meat! The flavor of their “gravy” on thepork chop is ????. The crazy pot of queso with chorizo and then whatever those little appetizer bean/cheese/crunchy things are -OMG! I could each many orders of those (and eventually will). The sign is so colorful and the place looks small (it is) but hereis the ultimate secret - a cute, cute, back patio!!! The owners run the place and are on hand with pretty great service but itis the food that is just… Y-U-M! Aside from salads - the app thing and the one other dish (can’t remember the name) arevegetarian.. so limited but those two dishes were AMAZING - according to the vegetarian in the group! Ok - the graffiti art withthe spirit animals are pretty banging too. How this is not all over TiKTok is shocking. They opened last April - still prettynew considering. I've been to El Alebrije several times and every time I've had something different from the menu. Everything has been delicious... and the drinks are amazing. Great place. The food was very good. We got the pork chop- it was super juicy and cooked perfectly. My wife got the tampiquena... and was able to cut through it with a butter knife, so tender! Margaritas we're on point. But the best is their homemade bluecorn tortillas! Read more

Make sure you eat here. Really. If you're looking for food, go here. My wife and I just finished dinner here and it was... outstanding. This place has amazing margaritas, food and dessert. The atmosphere is fun. The servers are very attentive andpolite. Everything was amazing.
