The steak torta was delicious and the steak was tender no fatty pieces at all. I would highly recommend El Gordo.
Great place to get food. Prices are good only thing is they need to update their salsas. They are not spicy at all.

The Plaza Mayor is stunning & loving our apartment too. Stopped for a late lunch in the plaza at El Gordo and had pickled... aubergine, cod with red peppers and meat with green peppers washed down with vino blanco - it was all great! I went to this place based on the reviews and because it was nearby the Copernicus center for a show later that evening and I... was disappointed. Food wasn't that great, I found couple of shrimp shells, not a big deal, I know shells are edible but ittasted wrong, we witnessed how one of the cooks placed a full plate of rice into the microwave as it were being reheated andserved. And that potato salad they serve with their dishes is horrible, it's flavorless. To top things off, our server cametwice to our table and dissapeared for about the hour we spent there. We had to flag another server to get her for our check.Price was reasonable basing it on the poor service received. Read more
