Great quality, super fast and friendly service in a cute all white interior. They have outside tables too. I had the black... shrimp tempura roll and avocado roll, both with soy paper. The temperature of the rolls was perfect, something that seemsoverlooked by a lot of places. The tempura shrimp in the roll were super plump and cooked perfectly. Went to visit my daughter in Chicago and she treated us to dinner at Friend Sushi. Beautiful decor and style. Also Beautiful... presentation of each dish. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Staff was very welcoming and appreciated our patronage. Onething that could be improved is that some of the furniture and chairs had light stains on them and should be takencare of. Read more
We loved everything, nothing missed the mark. The Nigiri was sublime, the torched fatty Salmon was my favorite. The Friends and... Tiger Eyes Maki rolls were also great. My wife's Unagi donburi had fatty and delicious eel cuts. Our ceviche tasted fresh andwrithed great with the crackers. They had run out of desserts so they must be good! Very high quality sushi in a very neatly designed restaurant. It was extremely busy when I went (around 8pm on a Tuesday) but it... made complete sense the second I tasted their food. The rolls are quite fairly priced and one of the lowest priced restaurantsin the area at that time of night. Cons: The person working the register seemed like she was spread a bit thin but was stillsuper polite and worked as quick as she could. I highly recommend making a reservation before trying to go just to be sure youwill be able to get a table. Even though I made one and arrived on time I was seated about 25 mins later. The only other con Icould give aside from the place being busy is the lack of non-alcoholic drink options, but even then it'smanageable. Pros: Everything else. No, really. The chairs were super comfortable, the food was incredible, the service wassurprisingly fast after I was seated, and the rolls were priced low for how good quality they are. Order the salmon donburi. The salmon is melt in your mouth fresh and the rice has that distinct rice wine vinegar taste and... pop. Note - the Wasabi is not for the faint of heart. Super fresh. Super hot. If you order sushi go with the Rush Roll withoutcream cheese and the sweet potato role. Read more
It was good, but I have had better! Sushi was tasteful and nice, but lacked something. The cocktails were great! We had a wine,... which was not up to the mark, so our waiter changed it for us and also recommended a better one. All said, it was a lil on theexpensive side for the quantity of food. Friends Sushi has a great atmosphere. I really like the lounge vibe. The sushi is fresh and the plum wine was good. The staff... at Friends Sushi are really accommodating - thank you! Me and my sister went to this spot and all I can say is the sushi was delicious my sister had to order extra to go! Very cute... spot! The price for sushi is reasonable price for a sushi spot especially for it being downtown Chicago. I ordered the volcanosushi roll and tiger roll and my sister ordered the shrimp tempura and the California roll and as she says her favorite was theshrimp tempura it was amazing! Read more
