Overpriced for a mediocre meal. An $85 steak shouldn't be over cooked or undersized. Artificial bacon bits should be saved for... cafeteria salads not $20 oysters. This place has a great soundtrack. I love the mix of their fun atmosphere with decadent menu items. We started with the... broccolini and oysters, then moved to a full slab of ribs with white bbq sauce, and ended with desserts. Whenever I ordered abeer, the server asked if I "just wanted the 16oz", because that's their smallest serving. In proper German tradition, they alsohad a stein or a boot of beer available. Service was friendly and attentive, with other staff glad to jump in to grab anythingwe needed, and our desserts brought out by someone from the kitchen even. Read more
Very good experience but $$$. Small portions vs price is nice occasionally but not worth it for me on the norm.
Great German food with a slightly American twist. I ordered family style and had plenty of food, all of it delicious. Our waiter... was amazing and the food was served promptly. My only complaint was that the music was a little loud. Read more

German and soul food is a rare combination but when done right it creates a unique experience. A michelin bib-gourmand and a... recommendation from a co-worker, Funkenhausen was a pretty easy choice for our office group get together party. Our large groupof 10 was looked after really well and the management was very accommodating of our last minute requests with reservation timeand party size changes. We sat right by the open kitchen watching the experts exhibit their culinary skills. Food was delectableand we loved the stories of the recipes and the details of the preparation enunciated gracefully by our server. I’ve had this spot bookmarked for a while and finally made it for dinner. My only regret is not going sooner! Tried the... oysters, beef croquettes, schnitzel, and cacio e Pepe and all were excellent. Also liked the decor/ design aesthetic very cozyand modern! Will def be back for brunch sometime. Read more
