This is the best pizza in the city. Hands down. Small neighborhood joint that requires online preorders and carry out only --... totally worth it. A fermented sourdough crust that is cornmeal dusted, the freshest tomato sauce in town, and spectaculartoppings -- we went with pineapple rings and cherry peppers and the sweetness and spice balanced the pizza perfectly. I was originally so excited about trying this place because I love a good deep dish pizza. I ordered pepperoni, bacon,... mushroom, onion and garlic. The pieces of mushroom were so small and small amounts of it. Pepperoni was burnt. I dont minewell done but if it taste burnt, its not something I want to eat so I ended up pulling most of it off. Part of the pizza didn'thave enough cheese. I was expecting my pizza to have all the love I saw from the news show segment. Also got a ceasar saladwhich was great. Lemoncello dessert was small and I have had better. Overall, I was disappointed with my pizza and probablywould not go back. Read more

No doubt the pizza is awesome. Crust is somewhat crunchy while the middle is soft and chewy (but not gummy). The cheese portion... was just right. Would have liked a little more sauce but that’s just my preference. I would like to note that after notreceiving my entire order (1 brownie short) it took an initial phone call - sorry I’m busy I’ll see if we can refund it, avoicemail and another phone call. The whole time I was trying to find out about the refund, I could hear someone in thebackground, I believe the owner, being very rude in how he spoke. Shame he was such an a** cause now I’m totally turned offof this place. Update: After a week I have still not received my refund for missing order item. This only confirms my originalthought that this guy, possibly owner, is truly an a**. For those of you who think this is “much ado about nothing “ you maybe right but then again it’s about the principle of the matter and the horrible customer service. Update #2: Received myrefund yesterday. Final thoughts - better late than never. PS - tried the cheese pizza at Lou Malnati’s Evanston on Friday. It was a huge disappointment after eating George’s. This is definitely the best Chicago’s pizza I’ve ever had. It was my first time here & will come here every time I visit... Chicago. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. Pure Deliciousness!! Read more
