This is a Gem outside of the downtown area of Chicago!! Booked here based on reviews and it fantastic! Highly recommend the... scallops, steak, and pasta! I tried to get pictures, but the food went quick!! Service was great and very accommodating. Lovedthis part of the city as well! This is a must try if you’re looking for something delicious and not part of the bustle ofdowntown. Read more

Giant is a cozy and vibrant restaurant with a down-to-earth staff. The server suggested us to order 2-3 plates per person. We... got (1)Japanese eggplant (2)Onion rings (3)Scallops (4)Tagliatelle (5)Swordfish. Rating 1>2>5>3=4 1) Japanese eggplant is amust-get from here. The eggplant taste like meat and the pancakes that come out with it is on point. 2) Onion rings - crunchyand the sauce is tangy. 3) Scallops were bitter for my taste. 4) Tagliatelle were overly salty for my taste. 5) Swordfish - theolive oil and the vegetables were fresh and complimented the swordfish well. The tables were really close to one another andslightly claustrophobic. For two people, we spent about $130(excluding tips). I’m from the south so I crave sweet tea when Ieat. The server made sweet tea for me (tea, lemon and simple syrup), and it was so sweet. Read more

Wow! We are Chicago kids born and raised and it has took us a very very long time to get to Giant (something both of us have... been ashamed of for years)! Thank goodness it has survived pandemic times and remains a staple to our city. Everyrecommendation, high hope, expectation etc was met last night! An incredible experience. Although the space is tight, theatmosphere is still comfy and relaxed. The wait staff was incredible. And the food, mmmm the food! Everything was coming outbetter than the last. The only dish that neither of us really cared for was the semi gnudi - the flavors didn’t wow as much asthe other dishes. But everything else had to be added to our “when we return, get again” list. Also the mezcal cocktail wasDevine but beware of the kick - 1 sip only to avoid coughs haha. My fave dish: carrots His fave dish: Tomatoes Don’t pass up:the biscuit ???? Read more

I did like many of the dishes we had last night at Giant. I did feel like a few were missing a key flavor, like spice or sweet,... but overall it was good. The only dishes we weren't as impressed by were pastas. They were still solid, but obviously not asgood as the rest of the menu. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area. @dietproof Read more

Takeaway: stunning restaurant that really pays attention to the details from the host stand through dessert. Great dining... experience that I would definitely come back for. We came in one Saturday night (plans got changed on us) and we decided togive it a shot. Put our names in and the hosts worked it out and we waited across the street at the wine bar. The waitstaff waswell-versed in the wine list and even suggested a lower cost option than what we were looking at after we described what wewanted. Each course was delicious and great to be shared among the take of 4. Read more

GIANT runs on all cylinders! Each plate can be shared by four people and the server recommended a total of eight selections... which included starters to entrees. The server was just great! Overall an amazing experience. They also have a back patio. Wewill return. Thanks for a super evening. Read more

Giant is such a fun time. The restaurant is pretty crowded - they ask for proof of vaccination, but know that others are... directly next to you (tables are within inches of each other). The food though makes it worth it - every dish is great. Eachdish has a least one thing interesting about it / out of the ordinary. The jalapeno biscuits we both agreed perhaps the bestwe've ever had - so savory. The vegetables are very fresh and refreshing. Peppers were very rich and savory. The tagliatelle andbucatini were rich, tasty, and had fun textures. I personally thought the gin and tonic could have been a bit more creative likethe food, but was still great! The wine list is also very extensive and has $50 range for those looking to not break the bank.Highly recommend for a fun night out. Read more
