This place was amazing, and not too expensive. I've never had Senegalese food before, but the flavors were phenomenal. Even the... veggie sides were packed with flavor. The side cabbage ended up being one of my favorites. I got the chicken curry and my wifegot the house tiebou dejun and the were both amazing. Will definitely come back. ???? Read more

I’ve never had Senegalese food, but I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here today! I had the Maffe which is lamb cooked in a peanut... butter sauce with potatoes and carrots. I really loved the flavor of the sauce and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. The sideof rice was a nice addition, and the Gingembe drink washed it down perfectly with a bit of spiciness! The owner is a great guy,and the employees were very friendly and courteous. Excellent service overall! Read more

Went here to buy takeout for my friends birthday And luckily it wasn't far from her house cause they got the order half wrong... the first time. I called and they said to come in and grab the rest of it but then they didn't have anymore fufu by the time Igot my order again. I really was disappointed by that at first but the food was amazing. They accidentally gave us a whole fishon our first trip there and I must say...best mistake ever. That fish was so well seasoned and it honestly opened my horizonscause I'd usually say hell nah to a fish w the head still attached. I loved everything...the dibi chicken, djolof rice, themafe, and my soupe kandje... but that fish was the best honestly. Read more

This was my first time trying Senegalese cuisine, and I loved it! For lunch, I had the yassa chicken and for dessert, the... thiakry. Both of these were new to me, and didn't disappoint. The blend of spices, marinade, and sautéed onions made thechicken delicious and moist. As for the thiakry, I went in expecting something on sweet, but was pleasantly surprised to find itwasn't overpowering and instead had a nice tangy flavor to it. If you're a fan of sour cream donuts or pound cake, you wouldlove this dessert! It's creamy and has a nice texture to it. On top of the food being great, the owner was very friendly, too.Overall I would definitely recommend it, whether you're looking for something new or just some good food. Read more

I woke up craving African cuisine. This was the only African restaurant on the south side of Chicago with an excellent rating... and it did not disappoint. I typically go up North for African cuisine but never again. I’ll be back soon for more RedSnapper, peanut soup and mint tea. Top 5! Read more

Very satisfied with the food and the experience. The waiter was very polite. For my appetizers I had the fataya which is... battered salmon patties. It comes with a spicy dipping sauce. I like spicy food but if you’re not into spicy food the dip willbe too hot for you. I enjoyed the fataya. For my dinner I had the Yassa Fish (tilapia) with a side of djolof rice. Everythingwas good. I’m so sad though because I had my djolof rice in a to-go box and forgot it at my table. ???? Definitely recommendedcoming here. Read more
