Reviews for Gotham Bagels in Chicago, IL

Moving to Chicago from NYC, it's been tough finding good bagels, but Gotham has become a regular spot for us. The bread is so... chewy and flavorful and the scallion cream cheese is a must, a little goes a long way too, which is different from the gobs usedin NYC bagels, but just as good in my opinion. We always order a dozen for brunch parties a day ahead and pick up the morningof. ALSO I'm not sure why there are so many low reviews talking about how they didn't toast their bagels right bc fresh bagelsshould not be toasted! They are perfect on their own! :) Read more

The wait was pretty long but understandable for how busy it was. But what was confusing is, why is it this busy? The bagel... selection is very slim and same with the cream cheese options. You also cannot make your own sandwich. Also the bagels mighthave been some of the toughest bagels I?ve had. Trying to bite the bagel took enough force that you would shoot the sandwichparts of the bagel out the side. Overall a very lacking bagel and would absolutely not recommend for how highly priced it is. Read more

Was excited to try the bagels here when I recently moved across the street from this location. Well, Google sure was wrong when... it tagged this business as "in-store shopping" as I could not place an order once I arrived in store and was out of data on myphone. Left without buying anything. I now walk 6 blocks further down Dearborn on a regular basis to Corey's bagels as it savesme the time and hassle of dealing with this business's dysfunctional and slow online ordering system. The day I can walk in andplace an order is the day I will return to Gotham Bagels, as the bagels weren't bad, albeit pricey. For the price, the serviceis faster and friendlier elsewhere, even if that does mean walking further. Read more

If I was rating this after my first bagel, it would hands down be 5 starts, it was amazing!! But since then, every bagel I get... has been different. I get the same everything with plain cream cheese and this last time I asked for it untoasted and theydecided to not only toast it, but toast it on a grill with a large amount of butter/oil. Not good!! I?m sad because I reallyloved those first few bagels. Read more

Reply to owner: thank you for your response. I will email you. how do you request them toasted? There wasn?t a place for that in... the online form. Respectfully, it took forever even though it was not busy. It took over 30 minutes and we spent $30 for 4bagels and a latte. Only does on-line ordering, and the QR code on the menu was for a different location. Bagels were tasty, butnot even lukewarm. Butter and cream cheese were solid. Waste of time and money. Tried to order a plain bagel for a baby, but gotplain cream cheese instead. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to leave a negative review, anywhere. Read more

I got the Bacon egg and cheddar on a Everything egg bagel with butter. It was really good. The bacon was cut thick and a perfect... sunnyside up cooked egg. But what really surprised me was the Gathom pickle that came with it. Delicious! Read more

Holy food ????. OMFG is the perfect name for this bagel sandwich from @gothambagelschi ! The pastrami & egg is also super... delicious! They also sell their bagels ?loose? (unsliced) in many flavors like everything, salt, and Asiago. And yes, this isthe place that slips their kitchens into a fine Italian restaurant in the evening - @eduardosenoteca. Highly recommend bothplaces after trying them for a @grabbdapp collab. Read more
