This was my FAVORITE experience while visiting Chicago!! We highly recommend checking out this restaurant and booking in... advanced! The ambiance, bartenders, chefs, food and drinks were simply amazing!! I cannot say enough good things about this place! I went here to celebrate my best friend’s birthday and everything - food,... drinks, service - was EXCELLENT. Our server, Emma, was so attentive and our food came out very quickly. The food wasphenomenal!!! We got the Caribbean jerk lamb chops, which were amazing! So well seasoned & cooked to perfection. I went here for dinner to celebrate my birthday and was amazed with the atmosphere. The food was good and well seasoned. The... drinks were off the chain. They had valet parking which is amazing and saves you a headache of looking for parking. While wewaited for the remaining of our party to arrive we sat at the bar and had drinks. Dinner was amazing. Charles P. was our server and he was fantastic. He recommended the Dream Eggs with Blackened Shrimp as a... starter. We also picked the crab cake. The aioli was outstanding and better than what I’ve had in Maine. We then ordered theshrimp and grits. Charles recommended the fried lobster since we hadn’t had that before. He said it was very flavorful and hewas absolutely correct. It really brought out the lobster flavor while the seasonings of the breading complemented it so well.The gumbo, cornbread, and candied yams rounded out our meal. Celebrated my sister-in-laws birthday last night and had a great time! My first time there and despite reading some negative... reviews beforehand, we had a good experience. The food was delicious and those who had cocktails were pleased. Our server Chazwas fantastic! The only downside was that the air conditioning was down and we were a bit warm. I do think they should havecomped guests free soft drinks to keep them cool but other than that I was very impressed. Read more
This restaurant has potential but you can tell there are still some things they need to figure out. I do want to say that our... server (Charles) was great. The appetizers were great as well. Those are the two reasons for my 4 stars. I highly recommend thedream eggs. The drinks are good. However we waited 2 hours and 20 minutes for our brunch entrée. We got there at 1pm for ourbrunch reservation and didn't leave until almost 5. Most of our time there was spent waiting. Once we got the food it was good,but not worth the wait I felt. The manager did come to apologize and asked we give the restaurant a second chance. I am willingbut think I might give them a few months for them to work out the new restaurant growing pains. Nice space with tasty food but service could be better. Here are the reasons I give them three stars rather than fine: 1. My... entree was their fried chicken and for my side I had their collard greens with turkey in it. They both were good but the collardgreens were a bit salty. 2. The menu is à la carte. So we had to pay per menu item. My fried chicken was $17 and the collardgreens were $13. That’s $30 for the meal and it doesn’t include a drink, dessert, tips, or taxes. The meal can get priceyquick. 3. I came on a Sunday for lunch (2:30 PM - 5:00 PM) with a group of about 10 people. The waiter was nice but the foodcame out at different times. Some people were done eating by the time others in our group got their food. 4. Their wasn’tutensils at the table so when we got our food we had to ask for utensils. All that being said, the food was good and I wassatisfied with what I ate. I would come back but with a small number of people and not for Sunday lunch. Read more
