Marchesa was delightful. I would term it a high-end bistro. They have a number of French standards. I appreciated that they did... not put flavors together just for the sake of offering something novel. Everything we had was quite good. The duck was myfavorite. The service was excellent. For example, we requested the dessert menu right away, and our waiter knew that the fruitin the tart had changed. By dessert time, updated menus were presented. The inside is beautiful, but a bit noisy for me, as Iprefer quiet. We ate outside, and even though it was just the sidewalk, care was taken to ensure our comfort. The pillows on thechairs were a very nice touch. I worried the street noise would be loud, but it was just a nice level of busy. The peoplewatching was first-rate. Read more
Visited on a weeknight with a large group. The restaurant has a lovely intimate feeling. Our server Philippe was incredible,... always available without being pushy. Every part of my meal was so well prepared. I can't wait to go back! Read more
Might be my fav place in Chicago. Excellent on all categories. Service is top notch, Nick was so knowledgeable, attentive,... personable, and everything else you’d hope for from someone who holds the keys to your Friday night dining experience. Theduck was fantastic, the citrus blend making it unique and delectable, even if I would’ve preferred it a bit more rare, my gfpreferred it at exactly that same rareness that it was. And the lamb chops - wow. The horseradish paved the way, announcing“delicious lamb incoming”, to wake you up for the amazing perfectly seasoned chops. Great wine selection too, elevating theexperience. Ambience is great too, with a manager stopping by to check on us. This is for the Champagne Cave, downstairs from Marchesa. It’s a fantastic date spot. Nikki is very professional and friendly.... It’s a small intimate place with several cozy loveseat tables. Nice lighting and a DJ. Reservations highly recommended b/cit’s so small that it is usually full. Read more
We were greeted and seated with a smile. Our server (No name tag) was very helpful with the menu. Our water goblets were kept... full and our bar drinks were delightful! Each person we encountered had a smile and made sure our food was good, our glasseswere full, our plates were cleared and that we were happy with everything. I had the Burrata and the Foie Gras and felt like Iwas in Foodie Heaven and the Creme Brulee was a perfect way to end the meal. This is a must stop if you are visiting Chicago. Read more
We dine at Marchesa on our last night in Chicago, and food was excellent and a wide variety of French wine on the wine... list. Very chic restaurant and we will definitely come back next time we’re in town. We highly recommend dinner if you arelooking for that real French cuisine taste. Read more

Our only real experience with French dining. My wife and I have been here twice, each time for our anniversary. Both times were... excellent experiences. Great service with attentive staff and delicious food. Wife and I highly recommend the lobster bisque andmushroom risotto! If you need an easy way into French dining this is the place. Read more
