I enjoyed my brunch here. The food are delicious! The atmosphere was chill, relaxing, classy. The service was great! I've had a... steak Benedict, a glass of blood orange Mimosa, and my favorite creme brulee' for the Sunday brunch. I just added this for my goto places for brunch around Chicago area. Read more

Outstanding experience hosting my daughter's bridal shower here from our first inquiry months ago until the wonderful event... itself. While we knew the food and decor would be beyond 5*, what really set this experience apart was the Mon Ami team. Manythanks to Julie, Justy, John, Eric and anyone else I'm missing for your genuine kindness and attention to detail which ensured alovely, memorable time was had by all. Read more

Absolutely loved it. The vibe whether you're inside or outside -where we were- was excellent, especially given the location... right across the zoo park. Besides the no brainer onion soup with oh-so-good Gruyere cheese which everyone should absolutelyget, we highly recommend the baked goat cheese tomato dip with the garlic bread. Just incredible, and that's coming from my wifewho isn't a big fan of goat cheese. For the main course, my wife had the tenderloin au poivre, medium rare, and I'd say it wasin the top league among the best in the city, second only IMO to Rosebud's Trio special, but still way better than many 'highend fine dining' restaurants with subpar cuts. I had the last beef short ribs special available today, and while the meat itselfwas great as I'd expect short ribs to be, the sauce was a little too cinnamon-y in a way that distracts from the cut itself. Iwould stick to their main dishes. As for the dessert, if they have Creme Brulee, go for it. It was absolutely incredible. TheProfitrole was okay, but the chocolate flavor wasn't deep/dark enough, and it was too big tbh for a dessert. Service was topnotch, especially that we didn't have to rush through overlapping courses, and instead, we got to enjoy the first cheese, thenhad our soups delivered, then our main courses. Can't wait to come back! Read more

Beautiful setting and delicious food with attentive staff. (A great deal during restaurant week too!) Went with my friends who... live in Chicago and they both rate this as their top restaurant in the city. Absolutely loved the French onion soup and thesteak. A wonderful restaurant to visit especially for a special occasion. Read more

We came during restaurant week: We ordered the onion soup, and the Benedict for brunch; the soup was good but the Benedict... muffin tasted old and reheated. The welcoming staff and the service was great. Parking was a lot harder than I thought, there’s a self park around the corner (expensive), valet for $15 or if you’re lucky around the school nearby duringweekends. Read more

Great service. Very classic French brasserie decor and delicious food. My steak was cooked perfectly so please give a raise to... the meat station cook that worked brunch this past Sunday! The only thing I would say is instead of bake goat cheese they shoulddefinitely swap it out with baked Brie. Read more

We chose Mon Ami Gabi in Chicago to throw my Mom a Surprise 70th Birthday Party. From the beginning, working with Julie was a... wonderful experience. We planned the menu, the seating, elements of decor, and other logistics that are part of planning aparty. The restaurant accommodated our special menu requests and worked tirelessly with us to develop the best table layout.Later in the planning process, she welcomed me to come tour the place (even in the midst of the COVID surge). In a technicalsense, planning an event with this restaurant is done through an online guest portal where all the details for the event arestored (contracts, payments, menus) etc, and any email conversation flows in and out through that portal. I have had othervenues or event services work through a portal, but more often than not, some kind of glitch happens. It was a such a relief tohave a system that actually worked. Additionally, I found Julie to be extremely responsive to my emails. Once the planning wasdone, it was time for the party, and everything went off without a hitch. The servers and other restaurant staff were there toset up the tables with the amazing linens that were rented from Windy City Linen, and help with any other items that wereneeded. The space came together beautifully! I was fortunate to have "Justy" working our event and she was fantastic! Our guestsraved about the food (especially the french onion soup), and the fare was served in an orderly and timely fashion (not too soonand not too late). I like to say it was the "Goldilocks" of service. All the staff at Mon Ami Gabi helped us create a verymemorable day for my Mom and we cannot thank them enough for all their effort, positive energy, and overall superb service.Anyone looking to create a special event that you will remember for a lifetime for all good reasons, can't go wrong choosing MonAmi Gabi in Chicago.
