This is definitely a good restaurant, and I would say that it is like Portillo?s because they both have various comfort foods... that are both really delicious. I've been regularly going here for the past few months, and I've noticed a lot of things aboutthis restaurant. The whole place is always clean and bright. The ambiance is definitely just something comfy and casual. What Ilike about this place is the fact that they have great customer service. The staff here are really polite and friendly and willgladly help with anything I could ask for. The food is also served fast, and not only fast because the food is also served freshand hot. The flavors were definitely amazing, and it is exactly the type of food that I would want to order if I wasdisappointed or something, because it is indeed a comfort food. The food is really nice and somehow huge. The prices arereasonable and definitely just the regular price for every food item they have. This restaurant is just basically a good one,and there are really a lot of foods to try, and one thing is for sure, everything is delicious. Read more

This is my boyfriend and I's favorite little spot. We started going in the summer and have continued since. Brought him for his... birthday 2/14 and the food was phenomenal as always but tasted so much better that day. Staff is always polite andaccommodating. Love Nick's!! Read more
Just the very best!! This is my favorite spot to get gyros and cheeseburgers, also so many other foods. After so many years of... trying and trying to find the perfect gyro this is it people, THIS IS THE SPOT. Its a little drive to get there but it is worthit, the workers are amazing, i tell everyone i know to go to Nicks On North if they want not only the best gyros but to tryeverything else. Placed my order over the phone, the employee who answered was very friendly andrepeated my order, said everything would be ready... in 10 minutes and it was. Everyone (including the cook) was very friendly. When I got there I asked how long to add an item tomy order (that I had forgotten), was told 3 minutes and that also was accurate. My order was correct, everything was fresh,fries were hot and crispy, and so delicious. Their gyros and homemade sauce are a favorite of ours. The spot may not look likemuch from the outside, but the food and staff are amazing! Read more
The atmosphere says it all! Walking into the shop you'll get your classic Chicago style hotdog station vibes, and the food does... not disappoint. I walked in there 20 minutes before they were about to close without knowing and they let me eat inside as theywere closing. They weren't as** about it. Read more
I do some work for a local management company and stop here for a bite every time I'm around. The place has the vintage Chicago... pictures with Agean and Greek scenery that give it a fun Chicago vibe without being corny. The guys that work there are fun andagain, have a bit if old school Chicago charm. I always get the hot Italian beef because, I'll be honest, it's just the best. It's piled with spicy peppers, cheese and beef that just tastes special. I do request extra juice on the side because I like nysandwich soaking. The fries are crispy and delicious. My coworker today go the cheeseburger and kept saying how good it was atwork. My boss got the gyro which he orders about twice a week because he says its 'da bomb.' I'm a native Chicagoean soItalian beefs and polish sausages have been part of my life since birth... However this place is special. Check it out and tellthem Mike sent you...
