Food tasted ok , but it was cold .
On November 12 2022 at 4pm i entered this establishment. All i got was the seafood gumbo it was 35+ tax my order came to... 41dollars. Its November 13 2022 5 26am and I just checked my account and they charged me 62 dollars. If you poor you shouldn'town a restaurant. I will never eat at this over price place again. The gumbo chicken had no seasoning was very bland but the sauce was really good and made a big difference because without it I... was very disappointed. The seafood gumbo was not bad I'll add some gumbo file' and other seasonings and really enjoy it I'msure. Read more
They're always helpful even when very busy. I come from way North to purchase the gumbo. It is the closest I've found to my... own. Plus if u buy it in half gallon you can doctor it up with some of your own items. Read more
Okay so I have been craving gumbo and majority of places fix with pork or seafood only. Which sucks when you no longer eat those... things. So I searched on Google and came across this place. First I called to see what they fixed their gumbo with and the ladyin the phone was beyond amazing and helpful. So I drove over a hour to give this place a try. And it was WELL WORTH IT! SOOOOOGOOD, I LITERALLY ATE THE WHOLE BOWL OF CHICKEN GUMBO. And I'm picky. So needless to say I plan on becoming a regular. Worth thedrive and love the non seafood and pork options. Read more
Good food! Note: This review is for the carryout place in Stoney Island! Just have to be patient when ordering, especially... ordering online - you're better off just come in and order at the window. It is a carry-out only place. I'm adding photos soyou can see the menu and prices. Although their prices have increased by about $0.50 for each items. They don't do full ordersanymore. Really good. The prices went up but it's still worth it to me. The flavor is so good. And I absolutely love the cornbread,... delicious. I've had the gumbo which comes with the rice separate and you have to mix it together. The wings come with rice withI think some of the gumbo roux on top. Read more
A few years ago I gave this place a less than desirable review, but now I see improvement. The gumbo was thoroughly cooked and... the vegetables were chopped properly. The only thing I had an issue with was that it was extremely hot & spicy & salty. I thinkpeople in Chicago think that everything Creole or New Orleans is supposed to be extremely spicy. I love spicy, but I'd like tohave the option for my friends & family that don't eat spicy foods. Hopefully they'll allow me to have the option next time Iorder. I will be back. ???????? Read more
