Was in Skokie at the Backlot Bash. The band I wanted to see ended and I was leaving, while walking to my car, I checked Google... maps for "gyros" and this was the place that came up. High rating, close to where I was, easy drive. Sold. Google maps was notwrong. Very good gyros. Very friendly people. And the view from my table was cool too. Papa Chris? has been at this location over for 35 years and we know why! The food is sensational. I got the gyro plate and my... aunt got the gyro sandwich. The portions were generous and tasty. I had enough food to bring back home for another meal. Thedecor inside makes us feel like an old school Chicago place. Right off of Touhy Avenue, this is an easy location to go to. The fries had very very little if any salt on them. Guy asked if I wanted ketchup, I said no, but should of taken it to eat... these fries. Double cheeseburger was a hefty burger, but sloppy as can be. I will go back if in the area, but prob go singlecheeseburger and choose a different side. $12 and change for a hefty dbl cheeseburger, hefty portion of fries and a drink isvery reasonable these days. I saw this on TV, Chicago's food to go, so glad we decided to try it out, friendly family take care of you and the food was... yummy. I had a francheezie, wow it was good and the onion rings were huge crunchy yummy rings, best I've had in awhile.
