First time trying this place, at first glance this place did not look so great from the outside but I said to myself just try... it, and it did not disappoint. The inside was also not great looking but nothing a few little details cant fix. Ordered theJibarito sandwich with arroz con gandules and side of Alcapuria and potato ball, everything was bursting with flavor, deliciousdown to the last bite. The service was not great, only one server for the whole restaurant on a Friday night, she did not lookhappy not even a smile, maybe she was overworked idk. So if you like authentic Puerto Rican food I say try this place. I willdefinitely be back to try more food. Read more

My husband says he hasn't experienced authentic flavors like these since his mother stopped cooking and cannot wait to return.... As child the idea of going to a Puerto Rican restaurant was unheard of, so in his 60+ years hadn't experienced the flavorsanywhere outside of the kitchens of his family until we went to Ponce. Arrived at 4pm on a Saturday, and waited 30 minutes fora table. Started with tostones rellenos, he opted for pollo con arroz y huevos, and I went with one of the weekend specials ofmofongo con camaron. Server greeted us warmly in Spanish and then quickly switched to English for our daughter. Portions wereplentiful and delicious. Not even 24 hours later, my husband is looking forward to returning both to dine in but also forcatering our next family party. What a treasure at such an affordable price point. The restaurant was full ofmultigenerational families and the pick up line was non-stop for good reason. Read more

Great experience. Waitress was really great and very attentive. Food was very, very good - Bistec Encebollado with Arroz con... Gondules and Jibarito de Bistec with white rice and habichuelas guisadas. Everything was very flavorful unlike other PuertoRican restaurants. Cafe con Leche was tasty and hot!! Read more

First time on dine in, after almost 10 waiting to seat( they have a sign “wait to be seated”) we have to ask because no one... said something, they lady answer you can go and have a seat if you want. So we order, alcapurria was good but the rice and thepork not, taste like microwave food. I’m Puerto Rican I expect that flavor, maybe next time. Read more

Visiting Chicago found this place on Google was like a 30 min drive from where we were staying but it was worth the drive.... Favorite thing out of everything we ordered was the carne frita. Had tostones, maduros, arroz con gandules and chuleta, bacalaitos, pastelillos, and sorrulos. Will visit again next time we are in the area ! Read more
