They've contracted with unethical booting company IPS to extort drivers by posting conflicting signage in their lot. We saw the... signage regard parking for the Bagel but there are also a few spots that have clear signage for bank parking only and thenmention specific times. Since we were there after the signage made it look like we were okay to run into CVS to get Covidvaccines for 10 min. This misleading signage is done on purpose. Meanwhile the IPS employee who speaks poor English and unableto have a discussion is illegally parked on the street in the tow away zone for hours. Read more

"The Bagel" came highly recommended to me. Service check, atmosphere check, long time employees check. My somewhat bland chicken... noodle Matzohball soup fell short as it was only chicken broth, noodles and a ball. No carrrot, dill or the usual ingredientsthat Grandma would use. The whitefish salad platter was VERY good. I especially enjoyed the pickles and bread placed on thetable. I miss the traditional Jewish deli as I no longer live on the East coast Read more

I get a sausage and cheese omelet everywhere I go. No one to date has topped a place back home in MN called Fat Nats Eggs. I can... officially say The Bagel is now competing with Fat Nats. Well-balanced omelet with good proportions of sausage and cheese. Ifinished my hash-browns the same time as my omelet which made for a beautiful pairing. My significant other received a greatquantity when getting a lox bagel and I can confirm, it was fresh and fulfilling. As far as breakfast joints on Broadway streetin north side Chicago, The Bagel takes the cake. My only question is do you have a public restroom? I was not able to locateone in shop, which could be problematic for people with IBS. Read more

It's always good here! Their reuben sandwich and matzo ball soup are the best. Friendly and personal service make this place... special. I heard the owner passed away recently. I remember the owner care about this place a lot. I'm not sure what the futureis going be with this place, but I love to see this establishment for long long time! I would be really sad if they're gone. Keep it up with good work! Read more

We enjoyed lunch here earlier this week. We love a good bagel but when we saw how extensive was the menu we went for chicken... liver meal, that was enough for two people also we got the beet borscht and to top all that a lox bagel. No pictures taken as wewere starving. But the Borscht was to freaking good. The livers needed more seasoning for me but were fine for my partner. Thebagel well we inhaled that. If you enjoy original home cooking Jewish dishes stop by and give them a try. Service was good noton top of you and not too difficult to get anything either. I always sit indoors is not sanitary for us to be on the sidewalkbut those that like that they have tables outside. Read more

Menu has a lot to offer! I am new to the neighborhood and I sat outside at a 2top with my 2 year old son. It took a bit to... review the menu and decide so I did not mind the slow service while sitting outside. It was a challenge to keep my sonentertained but the food came and it was great. The stuffed tomato came with lots of fresh veggies and coleslaw- I opted fortuna salad (chicken, egg, salmon salads were other options). There was no kids menu online but to my pleasant surprise, therewas a kids menu on the menu handed to me. My son went with the standard chicken nuggets. I thought $9 was a little expensivefor kids meal (no drink) but it was enough food for either 2 kids or 2 meals so we took over half home. Our meal ended andwhile we were waiting for the bill and To-go box, my son became restless so we were up and I was chasing him around and doingmy best to keep him out of the way. I admit this is problematic and apologized to staff/patrons while we waited. The manager/owner/ host (older man with shaved head in a loose skirt sleeve button up) had the nerve to say "get a grip on him" INSTEAD ofbringing a bill or box or doing anything to resolve our issue. Had I gone to the Bagel without my child or not alone with him, I would have rate a 4 or 5, but I focus my reviews on dining with children and I likely will not return with kids.... I livenearby so I might get takeout because I was very happy with my meal! Read more
