This place is profoundly mediocre and way overpriced. The hush puppies were pretty good but everything else was just okay. One... of us got the burger and for $22 we expected A LOT more. The fries are very average. Two of us got the vegan jambalaya entreeand I could have made better at home; it was too salty and spicy. Not everyone's food came out at the same time, we had to askour server where the burger was because it took so long. The drinks were okay but overpriced. Also, the music was SO LOUD at 7pm that we couldn't hear each other over our little table. At dinner time at a place that doesn't even have space to dance, Idon't get why that's necessary. Overall, pretty disappointed considering how much everything cost, won't be returning. Read more

Been here many times and seems to get better each time I come back. The drinks are strong and delicious, but the food and music... takes center stage. Came in on a Friday night for dinner and was surprised to find Chinese food on the menu. This is not theirnew daily menu by the way, but shows the chefs are open to taking risk and trying new things. The risk was well worth thereward, because the food was perfectly executed. The Duck confit, crab Rangoon, pot stickers, and pork bun were all burstingwith flavor. They have a DJ a few nights a week and they’re always busting out the best Hip-hop and R&B jams. Dancing isencouraged. Great spot to have dinner and transition into late night music and drinks. Highly recommend. Read more

The service was okay. None of the food came out together. Some of the people at our table got their food and some had to wait an... hour. They ran out of the vegan po boy after our order was placed. Then I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was soggy and justnot good at all. The sun dried tomatoes is not a good pair with the shrimp and bread smelled like sour dough but wasn’t. Iwill never go back. My friend ordered the chicken wings and the inside was still raw. Read more

Was looking for another Black-owned restaurant to try and came across this hidden gem. When I think about, I have passed this... place by several times not realizing its a restaurant that I needed to try. So, tonight I tried The Delta for the 1st time withsome friends and I was thoroughly impressed. From the time we were greeted at the door until we left, service was impeccable andfood was excellent. Sometimes it’s hard to find a restaurant that has both good food & drinks and then topped off with greatservice. My friends and I ordered food like we were having a Thanksgiving feast. Everything we ordered was great including thedesert (bread pudding) except for the mac n cheese w/crab. Our waiter David was excellent and the entire staff was so attentive. Also, the Delta Bouquet drink which is served in a vase is a MUST. Please note that it’s a shareable drink. Read more

I'm with my friends when I came here. We decided to sit outside instead of inside because it was chilling inside and refreshing.... We want to enjoy the atmosphere outside and the cold breeze. A waiter came to our table. He greeted us and gave us the menu. Hewaited for us until we chose our order and he listed it on a small paper. Before he leaves I ask him for a bottle of waterbecause I'm too thirsty. He gave me a pitcher of water and 4 glasses since we are all four. I thanked him and he left. My friendalso drinks and it's good that it was cold. After a couple of minutes our order came. All of it looks delicious. And when Itasted it, it was so good. I tasted every dish we ordered and I liked it. My friends are also enjoying the food that we have. Weare so happy that we came here. We will be back here again. Read more

Southern food done best! We need more spots for good soul food in Chicago. The vibe here in unbeatable. Their red hot tamales... and fried shrimp rock! Love that they have vegan fare as well! So festively decorated right now. Try their Elotes drink! It’sinteresting! Read more

The Delta is a nice, comfortable place with an inventive menu. The food is delicious and the drink selection, while not huge,... has a good selection of options. The staff is very helpful and attentive. Thanks for a great time, David! Read more

I recently visited The Delta for the Sunday Soul Brunch and had a phenomenal experience. The food, drinks and service (great job... Jordan) were excellent! The only small thing I would change is the volume of the music from the DJ and add some blues music. Youcan't have a Mississippi Delta centered restaurant without the sounds of Howlin' Wolf and BB King. As a son of Mississippi, Iwas a bit skeptical to visit to be completely honest. I have been to my fair share of "Mississippi focused" or "Southern" themedrestaurants that have left a bit to be desired. I am so glad that The Delta is quintessentially Mississippi, quintessentiallySouthern. I can't wait to go back! Read more
