My volunteer partner at Open House Chicago 2022 spoke highly of Duck Inn. If you are looking for "that place," look no further.... I made a reservation for 2:30PM. On this day, parking around Duck Inn required patrons to read warning signs on trees and lightpoles. Yes, the Chicago Fire film crew was setting up for a scene on the bridge nearby. The inn is beautiful, and the naturallighting is a plus. I ordered the Bloody Mary, and my guest ordered The Batanga. His cocktail came with a knife. Ask your serverto share the story behind this drink. We started with the Duck Wings (Japanese bbq sauce), Duck Bacon, and a Buttermilk Biscuit.Do not let the texture of the biscuit throw you off. Even though it was crunchy on the outside, the biscuit was soft on theinside. The plates are shareable. I enjoyed the Duck Fat Dog (Chicago-style), and my guest ordered the Up 'N' Over Burger. Thefood is delicious. The duck dog reminded me of deep-fried polish. Although I am not a fan of runny eggs, that burger wasexceptional. Of course, we ordered a side of fries. We stopped at the bar for $5 tequila shots on our way out of the restaurant.I will return to try the dinner menu and the Rotisserie Duck. By the way, do you have vinyl around your home? Bring an album ortwo, and listen to your music while you dine. I also want to see the Christmas decorations because the Halloween decorationsmade the place cozier. My fiancé and I love going to this restaurant. We come here when celebrating an anniversary or have a random date night and... get fantastic service. On this particular day, Bernard served us. He got to us after 15 minutes to get our drink order but wasvery unfriendly and bland. His personality with the tables around us was very kind and friendly. We got our drinks and finishedthem and waited a very long time before he came to get our app order and we ordered a second round of drinks. We tried to orderour main course but he said he would be back. We got our drinks and app and finished them and again waited a long time for himto come back. We ordered our food and not once did he check in on us. At this point seeing how extra friendly he was witheveryone and not us we got uncomfortable and just decided to pay and get dessert at the bar. The bartenders and bar back weregreat and treated us well. We still tipped Bernard 20% cause we’re in the industry but his service towards us was horrible. Read more
Heard this place had an underated Italian Beef sandwich so I had to try it out. Sat outside on their patio on a Saturday evening... and enjoyed the sandwich accompanied by the fries fried in duck fat. Delicious. Read more
The food was fantastic as was the service! I will likely be back again next week because there's still more I want to try. The... wings are incredible. We also had the duck sope, the smoked salmon toast, and their special. The biscuits and gravy on thespecial were fiiiire! Read more
Went here for their Sunday brunch and the food was delicious and their service was absolutely phenomenal. I got the Duck Sope,... the Rotisserie Hash and the Sticky Bun. The sope was by far the best of the three, but the sticky bun was like a more deliciouscinnamon roll with candied pecans, and the rotisserie is good if you like a good vegetable medley. The service is what took thisrestaurant to 5 stars for me. By far some of the kindest servers/hosts that I’ve encountered in Chicago. The prices are alsoreasonable so I’d recommend you check it out if you haven’t yet. A diamond in the rough, I’m surprised that there isn’ta line out the door. Read more
