When I was staying at the Drake on vacation I stumbled upon this classic steakhouse. The atmosphere and location are perfect. I will definitely come back! As soon as we entered, we were welcome and seated right away. Our waiter, Jay, was super... informative and super nice. I ordered the Kansas City Strip in medium and it was seasoned perfectly and cooked to my taste. Itwas so delicious, actually one of the best steak I have had. From first step in the door , it’s an experience. The atmosphere is old Chicago charm. You feel like the most important people... there. The food was absolutely amazing taste and textures. Everything was cooked perfectly and they made sure the food I ordereddid not contain anything I could not eat (food allergies ) and even improvised the recipes without hesitation . It's a steakhouse so I expected a perfected steak instead the steak was actually charred around the edges and black as well as... crunchy,I ordered medium rare it was nothing special at all. Not kid friendly either cold and bland dried up. also veryexpensive, I proceeded to order a side as the expensive steak did not come with a side(so strange) I ordered asparagus as myside that cost 16 dollars, that is quite a bit of money for a small amount of asparagus, it was not worth the money at all andalso burned. It was disappointing, I went in the next day the owner was there standing around, I was listening to music on myphone not loud and the manager came up and told me to turn it off, as if I was bothering anyone in the empty outdated dustyrestaurant, I had been served two small rolls of bread which the prior day I was not, so I would say very inconsistent and themanager was very rude. After that I was so annoyed I left. I have never been told I couldn't talk on my phone or listen tomusic. Empty restaurant! If you don't want to be bothered with burned steak or told not to speak on your phone or listen tomusic like it's not your right or anything, go somewhere else! So many good options around. I left a hefty tip as well. 30 plusdollars. I would give a 1 star but did think the servers were nice, that's it. Garbage food and the manager was rude and mean. Read more
