Tre Kronor holds a very special place in my heart as I attended North Park University from 1996-2000 and my ancestry is... Scandinavian! Came here for a Saturday brunch. Great food, had the corn beef hash which was fantastic and Belgium waffle was delicious. Rubin... sandwich was great. Recommend the Ginger bread latte! It wasn?t busy so service was good. Read more
Food: Incredible! The dill & salmon quiche was decadent; absolutely delicious. Others in our group loved their food as... well! Drink: The coffee was amazing; smooth as silk! Service: Very slow; we were there for nearly 3 hours, drinks infrequentlyrefilled, etc. HOWEVER, I totally get it. The servers were working VERY HARD, running around like crazy, and I was happy tocompensate our server with a 20+% tip! I'm sharing this because you shouldn't expect to be in and out in a jiffy! Outside garden seating is beautiful, surrounded with greenery, tall trees and flowering planters. They even have a vegetables... garden. Food are simple, fresh ingredients and tasty. This was a nice little spot for breakfast. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but I was expecting more or maybe something... different. I had the Oslo omelette which was smoked salmon and cream cheese. It was okay, but again, I expected it to be morethan it was. Service was very good and I would definitely go back again. Read more
This is my wife's favorite breakfast restaurant in Chicago. Food is amazing and they actually pay attention to special requests.... I go to restaurants all over the world and always ask for crispy breakfast potatoes. Rarely does it ever happen. The chef herefried my potatoes perfectly! Eggs were cooked tp order too! My daughter had the special omelette of the day with turkey and shethought it was one of the best she's had. My wife shared that same opinion about the Belgium waffle. One of our all time favorite brunch spots and of course they did not disappoint. The Stockholm omelette is great for meat lovers... and the Belgian waffle is great for those who prefer sweetness for breakfast. Absolutely loved this place!! I took my mother for her birthday for some authentic Swedish food and it was perfect! Not too busy... (which surprised me given how amazing the food is). We had a Brie appetizer and each ordered the Swedish meatballs and they werethe best I?ve ever had! Please go and support this restaurant and try the food. You will not be disappointed!
