The weathervane Restaurant has always been one of my favorites for 40 years. I stopped at the Chichester Weathervane tonight. ... I ordered baked haddock and Scallops. I got a 5 oz. Piece of haddock and 2 sea scallops. It came with a house salad and mashedpotato. I did not order any appetizers. The bill was $32.95?? for just my meal! I was speechless. Once a favorite now amemory. I will never go back. I got more lobster in Maine for less money. Very sad ???? Read more

We had Lobster Pie and Fish and Chips. The service was great and my fried haddock was tasty too, but my husband said the lobster... pie was dry. For $30, he expected better. Perhaps an extra side of butter in a small portion would be a good thing to offer. Read more
I haven't been there in a couple years.. The food and service was great. It was a little pricey compared to visits in the past.... I get it. Everything has gone up. The order was messed up but corrected by the server. They ran out of the top shelf liquor onone of their signature drinks then made it with a lesser brand but didn't adjust the price. 3 people 300 bucks for what we gotwas a little much. Read more

I have literally no idea where all these good reviews are coming from, because our experience was the exact opposite. I can't... blame any employees because we ordered takeout. Mind you, this is semi expensive food, and there was hardly any food in it. Weordered 2 plates, 2 cobblers, and fish chowder. The chowder was watery with actual fat and oil floating on top, the fries weresoggy somehow even when opening them in the car 2 minutes after recieving them, and while the clams were okay, there were only 6scallops. The cobbler was FROZEN and somehow burnt, and I will never come back. This was supposed to be take out date night. Ihave learned my lesson. Weathervane is a chain, but this is the only one I have visited so I can?t compare. We arrived on a summertime Friday night to a... small crowd in the bar and only a handful of tables populated. I attribute this to Covid and a local concert drawing people awayfrom local eateries. We had drinks, which were good. Pictured are a side salad, a ?broiled trio? (daily special), and fish andchips, chips were substituted with onion rings. Service was speedy and attentive, food was good and reasonable portions for thecost; the broiled trio (stuffed scallops, shrimp, and haddock) was especially good. Solid choice for a family meal.
